Latest episode was excellent. Just gets better and better. This has to be up there with The Sopranos & Breaking Bad. I was lost when they finished. Glad there's to be another series.
The final line was particularly good, I thought.

Eeeeee, I remember him when he were just a lad...

Yes, there was a lot of underlying menace in that one line. And scope for the series to go on for a while yet if focus shifts from Nucky to Capone. Fantastic writing, and despite some lacklustre episodes this series, they have just served to keep me hooked by laying the foundations for future story twists. I'm sure it's done on purpose.

I have now read the full synopsis for the penultimate episode – wow – love the final words. Should be an excellent Series 3 finale!

The creators intend to have it running to end of 1920's.

Great news. I don't think there has been a film that has really done Al Capone justice. Hopefully this show does.

I think there has been too much on Capone, it's great something has come along that focuses on the other Kingpins (Capone was just one of many) with Capone as a peripheral character. I don't think the scope of the program has it to make Capone central, he is a Chicago figure, and BE is New Jersey based.

Love the recent episode, what Nucky advocates sounds a lot like what Lucky Luciano went onto do a few years later. biggrin

Did you not see this week's episode where Capone delivers the last line? That's what prompted my comment. It certainly doesn't appear that he's destined to remain a peripheral character.

I'm waiting for Nucky to link up with Richard. That's a man who needs to do some more killin'.

Nucky, Chalky, Richard and Al should be able to deal with Gyp.

I was under the impression that the convention in TV threads is that it is "UK speed", which is how most of us reading and commenting will be watching - so if you're torrenting it or watching via other nefarious means, spoiler anything you post that is remotely spoilery until it has been brodcast over here....

I've said the same thing a few times, on a few different threads and generally I get shouted down with "well wait till you seen it" completly ignoring the fact that by the time I have seen it they're all raving about the next one or "we spoiler cover everything anyway" without a note to show which eps they're talking about until you read it or "illegally downloading is super cool, sod off old man".

But it seems those of us who follow the rules and wait and/or pay for the priviledge of enjoying something that cost millions to make are in the minority.

We also watch it on Sky Atlantic. I record it and watch afterwards, to skip through the (very frequent) adverts.

The last one I watched was where all of Nucky's associates decided not to help him in the upcoming war. I have read the synopsis for the next one, which sounds great, and the season finale should be very good.

I still think they got the pacing (or should I say, lack of) wrong in the first half of season 3 - I love this show, but at times started to drift off.

I think the actor who plays this guy is excellent.

I've read back over the posts for the last couple of weeks, and can't see anything in any of the posts that would in any way spoil it for people who haven't seen the latest episode. I purposely didn't quote the line that Capone said; it's hardly a spoiler to say that there was a cliffhanger at the end of the program, especially as Capone has been a recurring character.

Or am I missing something?

No you're right. A lot less is revealed on here than is on, say, the BB thread.

Also can we stop moaning about who watches it legally or not? Fact is the thread's about the series, not the way you get your episode. smile
