Victoria Derbyshire Alcoholism Phone in yesterday..

I've been at home diy'ing this week & have listening to a lot of radio!. There was an interesting phone in on radio 5 yesterday about alcoholism. One call in particular was very gripping, from a lady called 'Rachel'. This was the saddest thing I have ever heard on air:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00f49rj

I thought R5 really hyped this, it was repeated on Richard Bacon's program and also on Derbyshire again the next day. I am amazed a doctor would risk their career by calling into a radio station and come out with all this stuff, drinking cans of Guinness at lunchtime. A false name was given for the woman but not the guy.

To me it had an air of something not being not quite right, a little fake maybe. At one point she asks if she is on the air half way through the conversation. I am no hater or fan of Derbyshire but this was the kind of drama she thrives on, huge silences and dramatic statements.
