Can someone remind me what the likable warrior dude in the slave pit who will surely become a less-likable stone dude shortly, did to ps off the Queen? I forget...
He was spying on her for the Lanisters originally.Yes, it was discovered that Ser Jorah Mormont had been spying on her for Lord Varys (The Spider) when his royal pardon was found for his services rendered. Despite the fact that he'd foiled an assassination attempt on her and is obviously quite besotted by her, she decided to friend zone him and banish him.
Plenty of people getting their knickers in a twist over the attempted Gilly rape this week on asoiaf (never going there again!). Bloody ridiculous, it's a TV show. With tits, and cock chopping.
Interested in the couple of references to Balon Greyjoy, had forgotten about that tough old bd.
Hoping Sansa plays out as an opposite to Dany - starts off with rape, but instead of bringing out her husband's compassion, she develops a bloodlust via her first use of a corkscrew...
On the question of winter arriving - how long has it been since the last one? I understand they all 'know' it'll be a really bad one, but Ned had lived through a couple of normal ones hadn't he?

I think its been 10-15 years... Interested in the couple of references to Balon Greyjoy, had forgotten about that tough old bd.

I only visit the casting pages over there, the rest I leave. The ratio of aholes to cool dudes is disproportionate.Patrick Bateman said:
After helping Tyrion escape?
Well things have changed...and will continue to change. Varys can't let Littlefinger get the upper hand...not that I ow what Lf is doing or how long he'll stay in the capital. Cersei is on the brink...the TYrells are weak....bit of a vacuum there.I don't see Varys being an expert tracker hot on the heels of Tyrion.

It's annoying how many transparent some media outlets are being with their clickbait articles. Saw a Vanity Fair article pop up on Google Now as I'd been searching for GoT stuff, headline something along the lines of "GoT doubles down on sexual violence", referring to the Gilly scene. No one seemed to care when Craster's wives were getting abused by those Nights Watch deserters, or Theon getting castrated, or Ros being abused, or that random girl being mauled by dogs.. but when it's Sansa, oh the humanity!!
There's so many disingenuous articles now that are framing their "reviews" in the context of the Sansa incident that it's not even worth trying to find the ones that are genuine.

But Varys motives were to get to Danny, not to get Tyrion to Danny. He was only bringing Tyrion because Tyrion was his friend, needed saving and is a smart little fecker. So I'm sure he he would have continued on his way to find Danny and use her as a way to deal with Littlefinger.
Were they? I thought they were to introduce Tyrion as a special adviser to Danni? Now Tyrion is out of his reach, I see Varys going back. Halb said:

Now the motives aren't clear- I can't remember the landlords name in EP01 When we first see Drogo, but he's clearly telling Viserys what he wants to hear as opposed to the truth. But it seems that Varys is pally with the movement to restore the Targaryens, for whatever reason.
In this context it fits in well with his blarb to Tyrion about a great ruler who cares for the people, etc. The thing is, does Dany know Varys? Was FZ reporting to him? He could clear a whole lot up, or have his head removed.
This is another reason why I miss Ser Barristan- Dany bh herself surrounded by airheads leaves her adrift from her history. Barristan could be used to drop into conversation some enriching trinket lime the way her brother would sing or whatever. The show is losing it's links to its own history by concentrating on the kids too much.

because Varys is all about the kingdom... doesn't care about whose arse is on the throne as long as they are good for the kingdom. He really is a man with a long term visionirocfan said:
