The Real Italian Job: James Martin's Mille Miglia is on in half an hour on BBC2. I think it's a repeat but well worth watching as James is quite a petrolhead.

Yeah I'd love to watch it, if it wasn't for that god awful James Martin.

He cries if that helps, and not in a good way

Watched it first time around - will give it a miss this time, thank you. Anyway the totty on CDWM on C4 is much easier on the eyes. wink

Sounds like a bag of spanners now. Maybe he should have run it in a bit before hoofing it about.

I shouldn't laugh. But it's quite funny. Seen it before and knew it would happen.

Lovely car though.

I don't know who the guy is, but I do feel for him. Aside from the money, serious planning and effort have gone into this. Then there are the dashed dreams. He seems like a real petrolhead and I think you'd have to be fairly heartless to not feel for him. I'd be gutted.

The book for the girl was a nice gesture. She seems very cool.

Despite the fact the man is a bit of a chauvinistic tosser, I couldn't help but feel for him then. All that effort, preparation and money for it all to end so quickly must be sickening. A fitting tribute to the ups and downs of owning Italian cars, as well as the rollercoaster emotions of motorsport.

Great programme, and very emotional. Gonna take the GTV for a run tonight I think. smile

Is it just me or is the co driver girl far more attractive than the model girlfriend?

Wow he comes across as a complete and utter tosser tbh, specially the way he speaks to the co-driver.

Ruined the programme tbh..

Pretty disappoining to be honest, epsecially with him only getting 120 miles. And did he compete in the following year's race - it would have been a nice ending to the piece if a footnote was added onscreen that he did.

Mind you they did mention he had hoped to double the cars value by doing the MM in her

I expect he watched it back with his mates Richard Keys and Andy Gray!
