I’m new to this section of the forum so apologies in advance if this has been done before. I’m going on holiday in a few weeks where I plan to do bugger all, all day but read and by night plan to watch some TV on my laptop.

I’m looking for a good series/boxset to get into; that my other half will also watch so would like some recommendations. Below is a quick list of what I’ve see, without saying how highly or lowly I rated them they were mostly suggestions from mates etc.

Sopranos, Nip tuck, Dexter, True Blood, Supernatural, Prison Break, Mad Men, 24.

I tried to get into The Wire once but my other half didn’t seem too interested so only watched the first few episodes.

Over to you.

I’ve inevitably missed some off my list, and BOB was one. It’s been along time since I watched the first series though so I think a mate has it so I’ll get it. Wasn’t as impressed with the second series but still good TV.

'The Good Wife' is a nice slow (not too slow!) burning programme I think.

True Blood, despite it's random bout of silliness at the end of season 2 is ace.

My favourite thing on TV just now is 'Boardwalk Empire' from Sky Atlantic. Gangsters, naked molls and it's set in the 1920's - what more do you want?! smile

The Wire
The Wire
The Wire
The Wire
The Wire.

Don't approach it like you would with "normal" TV shows. It's on a whole different scale.
