Aww no-one has mentioned King of the Hill - the grown up and proper version of the Simpsons(and a lot funnier) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKv5u42uSJk&fea...

King of the Hill was excellent. It was consistently funny and I loved the every day humour it had. I'll admit that certain episodes were slightly on the dry/sappy side, but it had a continual thread of story moving through it that kept it interesting. Such a shame they only did seasons 1/5 on DVD though, I'd have bought them all.

I stopped watching it in the late 90s as it just seemed to "try" too hard.

Now family guy is proper belly laugh stuff, I never got it but once you build up the characters back story you get the jokes, it also helps that the production team seemed to grow up at the same time I did so a lot of references to back to the future, star wars, dirty dancing, revenge of the nerds, police academy and many others are absolutely spot on for me.

Where would one find such a torrent?

No, it's my own opinion - I didn't find it in any way funny or well written. I tried to watch it, but it just wasn't funny....

It's sad really, as I believe that the first 10 series includes some of the finest TV ever broadcast; certainly in terms of satire it is just as sharp today as it was 20 years ago, a sure sign of greatness.
It is easy to forget just how good, how funny and how heartfely some of the earlier simpsons were, properly good stories told well and always funny.

Futurama is much more like what the Simpsons were and while I dont think it will age as well, theres a few episodes that are very emotional and very well told. I wont watch the episode about Frys dog because it actually depresses me. That cartoon about a man in the future, a robot, a lobster doctor, a jamaican and a cyclops that can actually make me feel something is indicative of how good it really is.

All on isohunt for sure. If you like Archer, check out Frisky Dingo. My all time favourite cartoon. The in-jokes start immediately so the more times you watch it the funnier it gets. By Adam Reed who does archer. You might recognise a couple of voices from it too.....assuming you've not seen it before of course!
