Shame about the mistake in the competition question.

Which of these was a famous WWII bomber?

a) Manchester
b) Lancaster
c) Doncaster

Err... (a)and(b) Ooops.

The Lancaster was a direct development of the Manchester, both of which entered service with the RAF. Although not equally famous as the Lanc, the Manchester is just as famous for its unreliability and tendency to catch fire/lose an engine/or both.

Lovely sound too.
Wish I had the time/knowhow to do that sort of project. Epic.

Thought that was a very good start to the series, that Rover was superb.

Really enjoyed it. Nice to see someone reviewing cars and I liked the group review too.

It's the time and the space that one needs - know-how can be gained along the way. smile
Trouble being, life often gets in the way of doing what we would rather be doing.

It's a Meteor, not a Merlin. FFS can they not get that right??

That car is one of the reasons I buy PPC

Really liked the new 'team test' feature.

1. Park car. All wander round it, kick tyres, wobble a few bits, give frank comments. thumbup Very PH style!

2. One-to-ones with the camera. Getting the feeling that they might tell you something they didn't want to say with the group/confiding with the viewer about their opinions on the car.

3. Four-up road test in pedal-down scenario. What's not to like?

4. Vote.

Format really worked for me. Found it very honest; not like they'd had a bung from the manufacturer to keep to a script.

I like 5th Gear. At least they are trying new things. If TG tried that "we all review the car" thing. It would degenerate massively. And I can never see that SD1 on TG in a million years.

I enjoyed the last 'crammed full with cars' series so it was nice to see that they've stuck with this approach.

The four presenters roadtest seems like a great idea.

Anyone know why they blurred out the ignition socket of the BMW?

Thumbs up for the programme though!

how about they show the car and not themselves - why do we need to see the presenters for 90% of the time. less ego more cars please.

Suggest they bag Chris Harris from Evo....before someone else does.

I doubt whether mere mortals could lap the GT-R quicker with the electronic assist off!

I quite like the RS3, but £40k too strong for me, at least VBH has cut back on the squealing!
