I think Plato is actually one of the best presenters across all the motoring shows.
Hi is dire....a nice guy ( with a silly watch )....but dire. Boring beyond words. He looks so self conscious. He even managed to make the 458 look dull, whereas Needel was in raptures.
Needel is good, though his obsession with sideways drift is irritating. Chris Harris could make a fortune here...why have they not snapped him up ?.
I saw them filming the three budget car piece (saw them filming the Smart).
They had a guy sitting in the back of a red RR or similar with the boot lid up, the Smart following & with me behind, ogling to see who they were!
Was surprised at how poorly they scored the Phaeton - I wonder what their resale values will be like longer term (if they are as naff a place to be in as 5thG made out.
I quite like Jason Potato as a presenter - he knows his onions, has good pedigree, and is a Ph'er so what's to argue with! Seems like a good egg - one of my brother's saw him at the FOS last weekend (not at his local dry cleaners) & he was earning his money by all accounts, and doing a very good job.
I never used to bother with Fifth Gear, but they seem to have altered the format/presenters in a very positive way, and hit the right balance for me between looking at supercars/midrange (and in this episode at least) the budget end of the market.

The earliest examples are fetching about £6k - £7k : http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...Very heavy depreciation, but interestingly a 7-series from the same era is worth even less : http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...
Similar story with the Audi A8 - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...
Incredible cars for the money
