Is there any difference between analogue and igital transmission? I notice that when I'm watching an analogue channel - BBC1 for instance and then switch to it's digital equivalent, there's one second of a delay between the two. The digital transmission is actually slower than analogue. Odd, since radio waves travel at lightspeed. Explanations anyone?
I'd heard back in the day that the delay is actually caused by the digital box 'decoding' the signals/waves.Mafioso said:

So I did a retune and BBC2 is showing the channel VIVA! It says it's BBC2 and even shows what's showing on BBC2 but it's displaying the crappy music channel.
Interestingly Viva's coming on its normal channel 21 too.
I did another retune but the same happened again. Any ideas on how to fix this? A quick google's come up with nothing. Cheers!

If you go to digital.uk you'll most likely see that you will NEED a wideband aerial. Even though you may have received all of the Freeview channels prior to the recent switch off, chances are that a few will be missing. We have had about 20 customers who have needed to replace aerials since switch off and all can now get the whole range of channels. Rip off!
Yoiu're prob in West Midlands area where some frequencies have been swapped to the Wrekin from Sutton Coldfield...

Manual tune, have the same issue with different channels.
Find your correct transmitter and in the info it will say the 'channels' they broadcast on. Takes a while but it works.
Apparently the issue is modern boxes can pick up too many channels and start from the bottom of the frequency range not the strongest signal.
