Wheeler Dealers - 02 Saab - lost the plot?
Discussion
I know wheeler dealers is a farce, but enjoy the Ed bit and seeing the classics they work on - but come on, last night's episode featured a bog standard 02 Saab 9-3 cab - hardly a classic, modern or otherwise.
Come on brewer, theres so many more modern classics you could be working on finding, the list is long - pull your finger out!

I don't think it's too bad. I rather like the Saabs.
Did you see the one where they decided to "modify" the Subaru Impreza WRX to increase it's value? It included them attaching vinyl go-faster stripes with the two presenters "autographs" on them...
Ridiculous. I hope the guy who bought it had a good word with himself when he watched the episode.

I liked what they did on the landy, although they should have gone for the Lara Croft sytle imho.
They key with this programme is to not take it too seriously and just enjoy it. Ed is really watchable and the whole programme just works.

I always laugh at this programme and how they talk about the cost/profit......negating the fact that a skilled mechanic is carrying out alot of work on all the pups bought my MB. It makes him look like a bad wheeler dealer!
I think the point of it is that you can 'do this yourself' (i.e. no labour costs), but as someone has already pointed out, not all of us have the skills/workshop space/tools to do such work. They key with this programme is to not take it too seriously and just enjoy it. I watched the scooby one the other day. Couldn't believe the go faster stripes! The guy who bought it got a great deal though, Mike got a car for quite cheap, spent £2000 in parts alone (free labour)and sold it for £2000 more than he paid for it. Top result for the next buyer, I really really do hope he took them stupid stripes off immediatly though.
I love wheeler dealers, it's like a mini mechanics course every week and it's certainly helped me alot going from not doing much on my cars to tackling most of the basics that need done on my old BMW like brakes and servicing and even recently swapping out the throttle body, so i say keep them coming Ed and Mike i've learned a great deal from the program

I'm not sure they really show enough to be able to learn about what he's doing. When he stripped and replaced the interior of the Lotus Esprit it took about 2 minutes on screen. John.
In reality I tried removing the door card from a Seat Arosa the other week. It must have taken me a bloody hour and I broke half the plugs that hold it on and ruined the door handle from trying to prise the bloody plastic cover off!
Am a bit of a fan of wheeler dealers, although Mike Brewer and his 'geezer-ness' does start to wear a bit thin! He also doesn't come across as that good a dealer! Buys cars that end up having a lot more wrong with them and then the poor old mechanic gets it dumped on his shoulders! Although a couple of the cars they have featured have come out really well!
Did anyone watch the ''What ever happened to the cars we sold on the previous series''. A whole 50 odd minutes of a re run then last 5 minutes of where the car is now...complete waist of time...
I thought the Jag came out looking rather nice considering i didn't like the colour from the beginning.

You should check out the Haynes manuals, if you managed to learn how to swap throttle bodies and brakes from watching Wheeler Dealers I'd expect that equipped with a manual building custom engines would be child's play!John.
