sounds like a stretch in the big house would be fitting for both of them if the passing of points is indeed what happened

The offence is "Perverting the course of justice". It often results in a prison sentence of between 9 and 18 months.

She could also be guilty of the same offence. However, the court would take into account any pressure that he might have applied to her.

This case will go nowhere unless Pryce wants to land herself with a conviction, which IMO is quite unlikely. She had the perfect opportunity to advise the police that Huhne had made a "mistake" when he completed the NIP and that it was in fact her husband driving. The question of marital pressure will only affect the sentence I suspect, not her guilt of being complicit in the offence.
Cases at the moment are resulting in a lot of 3 month slap on the wrists to the driver, never heard of the person taking them getting anything.

Her part in this is irrelevant. He is a minister of the crown, and we expect a certain degree of personal integrity from him.
Her part is only irrelevant if you're following a political agenda, the law applies to all citizens equally. If they did do this, they should both be convicted of PCOJ, she had ample opportunity to correct it when she received the NIP. She needs to wake up and realise that the media is exploiting her personal circumstances.
Perhaps "irrelevant" was the wrong word to use. What I should have said is that there is little reason for public interest in her role.

He is a minister of the crown. I'm surprised that anyone would feel that one needs a political agenda to recognise that his role is of national interest whereas her role is not.

In the scenario I outlined, not 'going along with it' would have involved shopping her husband to the police for forgery, personation and attempted PCOJ. I'm not sure I could do that to the Mrs for the sake of 3 points and £60, could you?
Perhaps you missed this, it was near the bottom of the page.

Oh dear, this afternoon in Parliament...

Immediately after Chris Huhne's Carbon Budgets statement, Labour's Karl Turner will present his Dangerous Driving (Maximum Sentence) Bill to the Commons.

The bill would increase the maximum jail sentence for dangerous drivers from two to seven years.

So, will Chris disappear after his Carbon Budgets stuff, of will he hang around in acute embarassment. I'll be watching Parliament Live from 5:15.

You don't understand women if you seriously believe that she's looking to dodge the bullet.

She is a thoroughly scorned woman (have you seen the state of the battle axe he dumped her for? It's a man ffs), and she will bring him down.

And a woman is perfectly capable of serving a year or two in jail, if it destroys her ex-husband. He'll be looking at 2-3 years himself, a destroyed career, shattered relationship with that cross dressing bloke he's shacked up with, he'll lose his house, the whole 9 yards.

She will see 1-2 years in jail as a good investment frankly.

But the fact that the Police aren't particularly interested in her will provide her with even more satisfaction.

+1mil This is the way it is. He fked with the wrong woman and from the sounds of it she intends to make him pay for what he did quite rightly so.

He'll still have several houses left if one gets lost. No doubt the Daily Mail will list their value in its coverage of any serious consequences.

More revelations in the press today. The Sun are alleging that he had a previous affair when he was an MEP. The Mail has a story from two former Lib Dems that Huhne spent £10k more on his election campaign than he was legally entitled to.

This reminds me of the wise words Jimmy Durante.
"Be nice to people on your way up because you meet them on your way down."

I wonder what stories will appear in tomorrow's papers?

Just to update you all here is the wail online story

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1389285/Ch...

For those who don't want to read this.

He has been accused of fudging election expenses and spending over the budget of £50k.

There are councillors with recordings.

Huhne appears to be quite the recording artist.

Pretty sure it is about his fiddling of election expenses. Mainly due to the fact it is jail time for that.
