I dont think stoners in the UK have anything to worry about - we now grow so much in this country that we have started exporting it.

In fact some of the high quality strains you find in the amsterdam cafes have been grown in the UK, as we have some talented growers on our shores.

It's only applicable in Maastricht at the moment.

Funny thing is, if ANYone thinks this will stop drug tourism/availibility of weed for tourists, I'd say you're living in a dreamworld.

The last stage of the trade simply moves to the sidewalk in front of the coffeeshop with a 20% mark-up.

Dutchies are entrepenurial enough to make some cash when they can, and the police won't care.

Just make them private clubs where membership has to be seconded etc.

That is how establishments keep out key sections of society they wish to discriminate against legally.

If schools can discriminate on geography then it must be pretty easy to make coffee bars for locals only without breaking any laws.

Here's another idea, make users have to register 24 hours beforehand in person with a passport and proof of address. Not many kiddie stoners are going to be able to plan 24/48 hours in advance.

The EU have already ruled on this along the lines that freedom of movement of goods and services is not being impeded as the goods we are talking about are technically narcotics which do not benefit from the free movement of goods as say a TV would.

They are just shooting themselves in the foot. They can kid themselves all they want but the only reason the vast majority of tourists go to Amsterdam is for the drugs ard the red light district.

They will loose billions in tourism money...
Indeed, Anne Frank's house can only attract so many visitors.
