A Norwegian magazine republished the Danish cartoons as a show of support.

I don't think any muslamic fundamentaloids would be bothered as to how big a role the country played in a particular conflict, simply that they were playing a role...

We moved out of Oslo city centre a few months ago, the missus managed to get back from wotk OK. She was 5 miles away and heard it, knowing it was abomb straight away.

I'm working at the airport until 22:00, not many police here, they've said it's safe enough.

A man camouflaged as a policeman have reportedly started shooting at a Island in Buskerud (a county here in Norway) where Arebeiderpartiets (Norwegian labour party) youth party have a political gathering. We currently have a Labour government so this is probably related to the bombings.

Looks like a massive gas explosion to me, apart from the windows there doesn't seem to be much heavy structual damage to any particular building. There looks like a hole in the road near that mangled car, maybe a gas main?

The police have confirmed that it was a bomb and we have reports from shootings elsewhere in the country (see my last posts). I really doubt that this was an accident.

Apparently there is no gas main in Norway. And the police have confirmed a car bomb.

Fine theory - but the Norwegians don't use much piped gas.

I would hypothesize a small - medium car bomb/van, with the confined space (enclosed by buildings) channeling the blast wave. Doesn't take much over pressure to blow in windows.
