In context, and considering our foreign adventures, we have been lucky if this is the work of Al Queda type terrorist group.
Tell that to the 7/7 victims
I think he is referring to THIS bomb, and the casualty figures.

Your Prime Minister was at that conference when the shooting began.
The BBC are reporting that he was scheduled to go, but didn't attend.
Yes, you are quite right Beeblebrox – lucky coincidence or was his absence through intelligence?

They are now saying he was due there tomorrow to speak, never planned for today.

Oh. I suppose if Mermaid had said "they" rather than "we" it may have been clearer smile

Actually, it still doesn't make much sense, now you have pointed out the ambiguity...

Of course sympathy for them, and there have been other failed attempts, and I feel our security forces have done very well and luck has favoured us. My comment was in context of how involved we have been.

You wonder how many more attacks Europe will have to endure before politicians see sense and change an asylum system, and a European Convention on Human Rights, not fit for the challenges faced in the 21st century from these bearded loons.

I'm not sure removing rights are the best way to go aout tackling the problem. What they need to simp,y do is boot out anyone preaching, or acting on these extremist views, be it prison, or deportation. They are entitled to a religious view, but not one that impinges on the safety of other people in the community.

Tonker, you've hit it spot on. No point closing the doors now. They are in and their numbers will grow. European leaders with their ridiculous liberal agenda over the last 25 years have allowed us to be exploited. Eventually they will have enough power. Thats not a scare story. It will happen.

This. Amazing how many people from ex-colonies are here, and keep coming.

I would inclined to believe it was rather a domestic political attack. The fact that they are targeting a Labour party youth camp sounds to me that this have something to with politics. I would think that Al Qaida etc. would rather choose popular public squares or places that are a symbol for the city - like the new Opera, our City hall etc. but not a random youth camp.

And if they have family here? (and hence cannot be deported due to the right to family life) or are in danger of breaking a nail if they return home (risk of oppression) and so forth. Also, under the current system, mass immigration cannot be effectively stopped due to family reunions (again right to family life)

European politicians need to wake up and see the existential threat western europe faces.

The only threat they care about is the threat to their own power and gravy train

As long as it is only civilians that die they aren't that bothered they are only concerned when it might cost them votes

Apparently someone had uploaded a video to Youtube warning about the attack already at last Sunday. The warning was in Polish.

There are a few right wing moments in the politics. They have held demonstrations before, but I wouldn't think they would capable of this. But then again it don't make sense that Muslim brotherhood (or whatever they call themself) would target the labour party imho. And would they make a waring in Polish?

DM - "Unknown group called 'Helpers of the Global Jihad' said to have posted message saying this is reaction to publication of Muhammed cartoons"

I don't know if that's true but I've ceased being surprised by the actions of these degenerate primitives.

Is it me or are the people wandering around (in the news reports) being a bit dim? IF they are there to look see that is. Not sure if I am seeing that right though.

Perhaps, but the shooter at the island (which is btw caught now) is reported to look like an ethnic Norwegian/western.
