As it happens it seems Android based devices are the most data hungry when it comes to data usage often using about 20-30% more data than the Iphone during similar operations.
Interesting i had only heard bad things about iphones where it comes to data. I have heard a lot of people complaining about huge data use on iphones. Heard nothing about bb.

Was surprised as my nokia uses very little data at all yet has various apps running constantly.

Well I bought a new phone a couple of days ago.

My Mrs has an iP4 and it's a smart little thing. She spends her time on it thusly

1% - ringing folk up
2% - texting
97% - Playing some fvckin retarded virtual zoo game.

Money well spent eh? smile

I went for an HTC Sensation for only 2 reasons really.

1. Only a tiny bit bigger than an iP4 but larger screen
2. Full bluetooth support - it copied all my contacts, calender, txt over from my old phone with no pissin about - iP4 can be a nightmare in this respect, it was for my Mrs. Also connects to my in car parrot kit, wifes phone doesn't.
Sounds more like a wife issue than a phone issue wink

I was given an Ipad when my mate bought an Ipad2.
After a week or so of dicking with it, it has become an alarmclock with a big screen.

Absolute style over substance.

I know what you mean, years ago my father got a new chainsaw and gave me his old one, after a few weeks I got tired of it and it started just gathering dust in a corner of the garage. It was only a couple of years later when I moved from a flat to a house with a garden and trees that I suddenly discovered how useful it was.

Moral of the story is that just because you don't have a use for it doesn't mean that others don't.

Well thanks for that. I do have some trees that need lopping.
I can't see the Ipad working that well but I'll give it a go.

rofl Good answer.

I say each to their own! We have a range of them in the office (Android, Playbook, Ipad) and folk like each of them for different reasons.

I expect Steve Jobs would make billions if he marketed and sold iChip - a chip for the non-mac owners' other shoulder.

No you are probably right, bad idea, but if it ran android or was a non Apple product that failed to sell years ago it would probably be different.

Pacman06 is a clear example of the typical "hate something good/popular because it goes against the grain" however the reality is that crowd are bigger sheep than the Apple fanboys.

I bet you also don't dare conform to fashion either do you Pacman?

Stopped buying apple product after:

- I sent back 3 ipod mini's back becasue the battery kept failing eventually just gave up and threw the thing in the bin.

- Bought 2 ipod shuffles that just failed after about 3 months , I then bought a cheap imitation one and its still going strong 2 years later.

Ipads do look neat but i had a go on one and it really doesnt do anything special that my hp mini laptop carnt do.

You have to admire their marketing and advertising though as its obvoiusly working

See...a perfect example...
I have some pdf documentation on my Kindle.
I want it on the Ipad. (well my missus does as its now hers)
I plug the kindle into the usb and it shows up as a device. I copy the files onto the PC desktop no problem. (its how I got them on there in the first place)

Now I plug in the Ipad and it shows up as a device. Can I copy files to it? No?

I need an app or I have to install stty itunes on my pc. I don't want Itunes on my pc. I just want to copy a dozen files to my (now wifes) Ipad.

No...I dont want or need to use the ipad again. I just want to copy some files off my pc onto it.
But I cant. I have to copy them to her PC and she'll have to use Itunes.

Because heaven forbid I just copy them on like any other usb device.

Whilst it would be better to be able to just copy them there are various ways of getting thing an and off an iPad that don't include iTunes.

Personally I used dropbox although I also have airshare but both effectively give you the copy facility. That's assuming that the slightly roundabout way of emailing them doesn't appeal

The more I use it the more I loathe it.

All I want to do is copy some bloody documentation on it and read them with a bookreader.
So apparently this needs Itunes (which I don't want on my pc but hey ho, I installed it on the Mrs Pc as it's her Ipad now).
I wipe the Ipad as it had nothing on it I wanted.
I install the update.
Now I need a bookreader, plenty of free ones in the store.

Oh but no...I cant download free ones without an Itunes account. I can't create an Itunes account without giving them my card details or buying a voucher.

Just fk apple and the horse they rode in on.

And before you call me a mac hater....this was my first mac.

This was my last

I'm so glad I got given this Ipad and didn't buy one.

I can't see me buying anything with an apple logo on it for a long time.
