I can't imagine the life facing this woman, but if I dived into a pool during a party and broke my neck I wouldn't even think of suing the houseowner.

Why did the CPS even let this proceed?

Common sense has indeed prevailed.

You have to take responsibility for your own actions and diving into a private pool with an unknown depth is very foolhardy.
