For the record when the EDL invariably kicks off or hold demos in Brummie, its always front page and headline news because they bring the centre of the bloody city to a halt. The UAF lot then invariably bring the rest of the city to a halt in a counter march.

Agreed Carmonk, reading the EDL facebook feed linked above one can surmise that the political infighting turned physical over the weekend.

Although I understand there was also intent to attack the occupynewcastle protest, as metioned above too.

That has been the case in the past but I don't seem to have noticed any headlines about last weekend.

And the only coverage their attack on a Muslim peace outreach project received was a piece in the local free rag

Now surely if there were a leftist plot to provide EDL smear stories at every turn we would have heard Huw Edwards carping on about that?

. What is known is that there was a violent EDL event in Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, that a man, reported by witnesses to be linked to that event, was photographed being arrested next to an axe and that the arrest of a man for carrying an axe during a street fight was reported by the BBC..
And yet you accuse me of being a troll rolleyes

What is known is:

1: There was an EDL demonstration / protest in Newcastle, none of the major news outlets reported any violence or arrests, the only source suggesting there were any real problems is a blog belonging to "searchlight"

2: A man was arrested with an axe in Newcastle on the same day

3: There was another EDL protest in Birmingham on the same day, 4 people were arrested, press reports suggest that the event "passes off without repeat of previous violence"

There is no evidence to suggest that the man arrested (2) had any connection with the EDL protest (1)

Happy to be proven wrong if you can supply any evidence to back up your allegations
