God. The only way I've kept my bloke off a Ducati is by frightening him with the prospect of being a unable to move in Stoke Mandeville while Jim'll ruined him (while sporting a gold lame tracksuit)...

Yep, no stranger to "Charidee" but you wouldn't have asked him to babysit, would you?

That's a real shame, he did a lot of charity work for the Royal Marines. I met him at RM Condor, seemed a good bloke he loved it when we took the mickey out of him by shouting out some of catchphrases.

Not your average type, but his heart was in the right place.

He was the first and one of a tiny group of civillian's who earnt a Green Beret.

RIP

Yeah, but harmless enough, he was more of your old-school pedo type.

My brother did work experience at a local radio station & Sir Jims of Jangles was in town doing one of his charrdee things at the height of his Jim'll Fix It fame. My brother described him then has an "extremely nasty person" (those aren't the words he used but the guy isn't even cold.). I know a couple of other people who have met him said similar things.

Rumours of the very dodgy type have been floating round media sources for a good few years. Could be an interesting few days.

I hope so too. He did masses of fund raising work for Dublin's Central Remedial Clinic as well as Stoke Mandeville.

The rumours have been around for years. If there was a grain of truth in them they'd never have given him a knighthood.

Often used to see him out and about in North Leeds and met him when he got an honory degree from Leeds University (a clip of which he then used on his programme) as he was presented by my dad.

Neither funny nor appropriate. I mean a well liked elderly man has died, a man who devoted loads of time to doing charity work he didn't have to do and some of you lots comments are disgusting. Grow up, RIP Sir Jimmy.

I asked Jim to Fix It for Magnus Pike (a TV scientist of his day well known for the expansive and animated arm gestures he made when describing things) to be tied to a chair and asked to explain how sun spots occur.

Jim never fixed that for me. The git.
I wrote to him to be able to float around in Zero-G.

Vomit comet would have sufficed.

He was pals with Peter Sutcliffe too.
