In WEATHER, not CLIMATE news...

Causing quite a few problems for them...

Article said:
At least eight people have been killed and nearly three million homes left without power after a rare early season snowstorm hit the east coast of the US.

Governors declared states of emergency in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and parts of New York as the freak winter storm dumped record-breaking levels of snow as it churned from the Mid-Atlantic to New England.

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy said the state had experienced the largest number of power outages in its history and emergency centres were opened in most cities.
...and they're relatively used to a fair bit of snow over there.

If the predictions of another harsh winter in the UK are to be believed, then Gawd help us!

I heard it was a wetter (heavier) snow than they are used to. I think they got our snow and with a bit of luck there's been a mix up and we might be getting powder. cool

The problem with this early snow was that due to the wet summer the tree's have yet to drop their leaves. Here in New Jersey the weight of the snow and ice resulted in branches snapping off and mayhem ensued with power lines being cut etc. Decidely weird weather.

We're expecting a tad more snow than usual in the Midwest (58in predicted for Chicago). Nothing yet and it's still pretty mild.

Snow what snow? (One of the pictures is what appears to be a black GT500 (possibly a KR from the boot spoiler))

I really think that is a GT500.

Pity a bit more wasn't dumped on the Wall St occupiers.

Down here in Southern NJ we got an inch tops....it dissapeared off the roads as it dropped, in same way it usually does in the South East of UK.
Certainly not enough to disrupt flights from Philadelphis Airport as reported. Maybe a lack of incomings from the North East left them short.

I was talking to friends in Springfield last night and they said 40cm fell between 1.00pm and 4.15pm Saturday = to think this is the peak of the Fall too.
They have had more than their fair share of bad weather this year it seems.
