Want a weird but telling statistic.....

Rubbish collected from one New Jersey township is down 40%
(Trash is weighed at the transfer station)

That asidebiggrin
What we need is more discretionary spending, inflation is low, so freeing up some money by NOT increasing taxes would really help.
That would increase orders, once orders start to rise things will move.

Nothing will happen while we have Obama threatening to increase taxes and the still unknown effects of his healthcare hanging over employers. Employers are reluctant to hire new staff in the traditional manner. New hiring is often on a part time basis, or existing staff is given overtime.
Nobody wants to saddle themselves with a massive liability. (healthcare)

Obama had his chance...he took office with a Democratic majority in both houses, his own party had to be bullied to put things through. They, as expected were voted out of office, now he is faced with a Republican majority in the House!
By comparison, Clinton managed to run things in an acceptable manner with a Republican majority.

So....when I get a call offering me money (finance) my stock reply is, "not until we get a new President".

Because that is what it is going to take.
Business sentiment of those I've spoken to range from some pretty unprintable stuff to "we're going to tread water for a while, not much else we can do"

Don't get me wrong I'm no great fan of Clinton (or Barney Frank) I was trying to be impartial and not come across as an unreasonable person (which of course I'm amsmile)
His choice in females leaves a lot to be disired for a start.

You could say they have just been a little more realistic than they were the tail end of last week.
