And immigration, and benefits, and the human rights act, and crime........The guy is Blair 2 just not as clever.
Bit of a trend developing here.

Pretty rough on CMD if PH cant even find a positive coment on an anti Europe speech!?!
Well, he's got his work cut out keeping the Lib Dems on one wing, and the euro-sceptic right of his own party on the other wing, and keeping it all together - without worrying at this stage about the PH fringe.Kermit power said:
This is the point which Eurosceptics always choose not to discuss. If all this extra bureaucracy and stuff is all the fault of the EU, how come we're pretty much the only EU country that actually has it, and why does anyone think we'd have any less of it if we weren't in the EU?
Yes they do have it. All the same interfering regulations get introduced over time, sometimes to a slightly lesser degree and sometimes more. It's a another Europhile super-cynical lie to turn the blame around and say it's all our own stupid fault for implementing and enforcing EU regulations while others happily ignore them.Of course we still have our own bureaucratic class who seek to make things difficult, and politicians who leave a lot to be desired. All the more reason not to give them the labyrinthine EU to blame all their short comings on and make their impotent, forced stands for democracy in favour of.

Maybe if CMD actually managed to enact something he spoke about, he'd get an easier ride on here. Does anyone in eu actually listen to what Dave gotta say ? There's a fine line between being in the gang and not being in the gang , America don't need us and now it seems the EU is turning its back on us , we are gonna be left in the middle of nowehere with no voice on matters , we will go back to trading with the west indies soon . Such a fking idiot
Rant nearly over
Good things he is spending 50billion on making toll roads and expensive housing that we have to pay for twice , good plan there George you imbecile

Where does this fear of being "left out" come from? Is the West Indies really the only alternative to being in the EU? Are 60 million sophisticated western consumers really such an insignificant speck on the radars of the world's decision makers that we will sink into obscurity without the strong, comforting arm of an autocratic socialist monolith guiding our every move? And has said socialist monolith really done all that well so far?No, of course, to all of the above. We're missing out on the kind of opportunity Hong Kong and Taiwan missed out on when China decided to destroy itself. Or the kind of opportunity Singapore turned it's back on when it left the Malaysian union.
Like Norway or Switzerland we could negotiate reasonable trade terms with the EU, while avoiding the excessive costs and risks that go with it.

I voted Davies, thinking Cameron to be a tad too far to the left for my liking.
Cameron is still too far to the left by my compass, but Davies would never have become Prime Minister after the 2010 election. We would have Lib-Lab minority government, and we'd be absolutely screwed by now - we would make Greece look like a model of probity.
The fundamental truth is that you have to be able to obtain, and exercise, political power to make a difference. Everything else is just noise.
