Political bias at BBC - something has to be done surely
Discussion
Interesting interview around 07:40 (R4 Today prog) between Mishal Hussein and some bod (?) on terrorism/police funding, then moving onto Trump's planned state visit.
Hussein was adamant that no president has ever berated a mayor of a 'terrorised' city before, thus the visit must be re-considered.
She may be correct, but the way she went about it sounded quite frothing, and not her usual measured self. Weird.
Poor old Beeb - if the Tories retain power they'll needle the corporation to get less lefty, if (by some miracle) Corbyn gets power he'll likely scrap it in favour of a Worker's Revolutionary Broadcast Service split into regional or local cadres.

She then told Boris Johnson to "please stop talking", which, whilst I appreciate how annoying Johnson can be in interviews, was incredibly unprofessional.Hussein was adamant that no president has ever berated a mayor of a 'terrorised' city before, thus the visit must be re-considered.

Yes, it was quite a bizarre interview. As soon as BJ moved towards any criticism of or comparison with Jeremy Corbyn or Dianne Abbot Ms Hussein immediately began to talk over him - every time! No doubt she had her reasons...

I think it was Borris, compare his treatment to the Labour fella on at 07:10 ishHussein was adamant that no president has ever berated a mayor of a 'terrorised' city before, thus the visit must be re-considered.

But all he wanted to do was talk about how 'bad' Labour are.
No doubt he had his reasons.

Yeas, his reasons were that Labour politicians are free to slag off the Tories as much as they like on the Beeb. He made the mistake of thinking the Beeb were going to be unbiased. But all he wanted to do was talk about how 'bad' Labour are.

The reason he wouldn't stop talking was so he wouldn't get questioned on his own policies.
Easier to throw muck than explain your own position.
In any case, even if there were a left of centre/liberal bias to the BBC, I think you'll find the BBC display a lot of anti-Corbyn sentiment, if not anti-Labour.
Most bizarre behaviour by Kirsty Wark on Newsnight tonight; interviewing Dominic Grieve about the PM's comments on the possibility of changing or amending laws to help tackle extremism she was clearly fishing for something and got quite irate when he said he agreed with the PM and thought her comments were quite sensible. Even when he said he had been there when she gave the speech and had concurred with her words Wark continued to needle him.

Indeed. Most peculiar. These damn journalists and their questions! You don't see interviewers asking Labour politicians awkward questions.
Well. All this talking over the top of people and shouting at politicians ...
...doesn't change how people vote one iota in my experience.
Going to be interesting to see the results come June 9th.
If it pans out the way it appears to be going to the BBC Schadenfreude will be a lot of fun...

BBC certainly aren't supporting Corbyn. They want rid of him ASAP. ...doesn't change how people vote one iota in my experience.

I really don't see that. I see them showing all the rent a mob showing up at his "events". They love him and his far left views. The BBC website has today a headline stating "More Britons 'back higher taxes'".
If you read the article you will learn that the number of Britons seeking higher taxes has increased from the last time the question was asked; NOT that a majority of Britons seek higher taxes.
This is an egregious example of sophistry through misdirection. Readers are carefully pointed to an incorrect conclusion in the manner of "a piano for the lady with the wooden legs".
