It still is, the BBC have created some great comedy recently
What?The Detectorists
Gavin & Stacey (not my thing but can appreciate it)
Stewart Lees Comedy Vehicle
Mum
Two Doors Down
Alan Partridge
Fleabag
Ladhood
A year in the life of a year
Not going out
League of gentlemen
Mortimer & Whitehouse gone fishing
The Trip
Nighty night
The thick of it
This country
What we do in the shadows
If it's on & the wife isn't watching Real Housewifes of xxxxxxxx then I'll have NCIS/CSI type stuff on in the background or it goes off.

If you don’t watch live tv why not get rid of the TV license if it bothers you?

I've just gone through the process on BBC website of cancelling my licence as no longer needed. Let's see what happens.
As it’s currently a legal requirement to have a licence in certain circumstances, would you consider it reasonable for them to check whether or not you need one, rather then just take your word for it?If I sorn my car it’s not really cricket if I carry on driving around in it.

You’ve not seen any of those shows? You’re missing out, what type of comedy do you like?
I would imagine the typical NP&E BBC hater would have a preference for shows like Terry and June, Love thy Neighbour and Mind your language. TTwiggy said:

I’d consider it reasonable - they’d be welcome to visit my house at a pre-agreed time if that’s what they want to do. I wouldn’t be infringing, but there’s clearly no way for them to check that even if they visited and found my TVs weren’t attached to the aerial...If I sorn my car it’s not really cricket if I carry on driving around in it.
If they turn up unannounced then if their visit isn’t convenient, they can come back another time.

I take their word for it that they're not running some of my old shareware software commercially without having paid for a licence. If I sorn my car it’s not really cricket if I carry on driving around in it.
It seems that the people who infested the EU threads, telling anyone who didn't agree with them that they're racist, close-minded little Englanders, have now 'emigrated' to this thread, to tell anyone that doesn't agree with them that they're racist, close-minded little Englanders, and to prove their point, reel out a few old 'of the time' programmes (that everyone has forgot about but strangely, not them) to make their hilariously predictable passive aggressive point that they think they are in superior in every way.
