A report by Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary in 2002 highlighted the growing number of reports of rape involving two or more attackers, in particular those involving groups of teenage boys attacking girls. At London's sexual assault referral unit The Haven 25% of victims under 16 who visited in 2001 and 2002, had had multiple assailants, compared with 13% among over-16-year-olds. Figures from the Metropolitan Police Service Sexual Offences Index show that from 2001-03, 6% of all recorded rapes in its area involved more than one perpetrator.

One youth worker recently commented that, "On some estates [in London] gang rape has become a way of meting out brutal punishment to girls who go out with members of a rival gang, or who talk back and are regarded as 'rude girls acting above their station'

Some stats here. Shocking (but not surprising) when you factor in the ethnicity percentages involved.

Soft policing and soft justice have failed....
Apologies for the snip, but no, it's not soft policing, it's soft justice that has failed.

These scum are regularly nicked and prosecuted, when Can't Prosecute Satan get their ducks in a row.

The soft courts look at the suited, sober, quietly spoken individual in the dock, who has had a troubled upbringing, and has just become a father, probably not to the woman he is living with (sorry prejudice showing) and can't equate that to anybody who doesn't follow Home Office Guidelines when questioned on the street and quietly submits the correct and truthful answers when questioned, but is off his head on some chemical, legal or otherwise, and first answer to any request is kick off a struggle and shout "F**k you copper, make me!"

The courts need to lock these scum up, not give some community service that is never done nor a fine that is never paid and if they say ten years in the chokey it is ten years, not out on license in 11 months to do it all again.

If they realise there is no effective sanction against them they will continue doing it. Put the sanctions on the parents? They'll just report them missing, so plod gets a misper in addition to all the other stuff.

Interesting article, almost as if the journo has been given the stats by the ed and is stting themselves not to sound racist by stating statistical facts. Read the related article about kids wanting respect and giving none; that's what happened to one lad who tried to do well for himself, rather like the Indian fellow shot in Manchester, life taken by some pathetic organism with a handgun and a ganglion for a brain. The black victim's mother (from the related article) knows the score but it's a shame those in authority are too scared to face up to it for fear of being branded racist.

One thing that might, just might, have a positive effect - and Jesus, do we need to try something - would be for those we put in office to alter the law to make, to ensure, a mandatory life sentence the de-facto punishment for anyone convicted of smuggling, re-commissioning, selling or carrying - let alone using - an 'ilegal', unlicensed firearm.

That might alter the mind set of some of those who risk it thinking it better to risk a few years in jail to make a quick buck or than be an 'undefended' target or without their "respek". But of course, despite all the blather and the tough on crime crap these crapists speak of, they'll shirk anything that looks too tough or could be criticised by the middle Englander liberal (small 'l') media/speaking head types.

Shouldn't be too hard

"In a statement released through police, his family said: "Our loving son and brother has been snatched away from us.

"A simple shopping trip has turned into a complete nightmare for our whole family."

The deluded tossers should be locked up for their inability to see that what they had raised was a selfish criminal who took, with force, whatever he wanted from others

The offence of carrying an illegal firearm according to sentencing guidelines already carries a mandatory minimum 5 year sentence.

It seems judges do not understand the meaning of either of the two words italicised above. This is a serious comment

Yep, but five years, five? Is that all?

And what is the sentence for those who smuggle in/re-commission and sell guns to the street scum that seem to find it so easy to get armed, even as teenagers. For christ's sake! banghead

You'll put your head through that wall if you found out what sentence they actually get.

Cases such as this real life one are happening all over the country.

Individual nicked for burglary, carrying illegal firearm, theft of vehicle, driving disqualified, failing to stop, dangerous driving, assaulting a PC. Christ knows what else he's been up to, probably some Class A in there somewhere, previous as long as you can imagine, suspended sentence for previous burglaries hanging over him, out on licence because he's a new Dad with some woman or other.

Police and CPS have done their job, nicked him, got him to court, got a guilty plea.

Now bear in mind all the above, the earlier discussion about 5 years, and in order to save both our blood pressure readings let's ignore the issue of "sentenced to x , out again in y," what do you think this little scrote's sentence was?

100 odd hours community service, that he won't do.

To repeat, if they don't feel that there is a consequence to their crimes, they don't care about doing the offences and not even when they are caught.

Totally screwed.

I now want to leave this country more urgently than ever, sickening. Inmates leading not just running the judicial asylum.

Have you got the link to that case. I really want to raise things like this with my MP/the Home Office, something must be done and if we don't complain/lobby with the threat of removing our electoral support fear nothing will be...

Just to add to my blood pressure reading and my sympathy for the dead tt, not, I've just caught something on the news on R4 about the scumbag who shot the Indian student in Manchester. If I caught it right, when asked by police to confirm his identity the suspect said "Psycho", twice!

If he'd been killed before how many would have been hand wringing fro the press over the demise of another 'wonderful son' blah, blah? Or if he gets killed when he's released, in about 3 years no doubt, will anyone actually give a toss?

one of the more clear cut cases that deserves the death penalty. Why do those in charge continue to let the rest of us put up with trash like that. Liberal hand wringers say civilised countries do not execute people. I say civilised countries do not let people like this walk around killing innocent people.
