EU to reduce power of vacuum cleaners

I have to admit that I didn't realise they were over 2000watts. That is a sucking force as Mr Spooner used to say.

Really, is this what every EU tax payer pays for? Is this the best the highly paid EU big-wigs can come up with, with the whole stinking system collapsing around them - they want to reduce the power of vacuum cleaners!
If they were depicted in a Monty Python sketch, they'd say it was too far fetched!

If they aren't as powerful wont it just take longer to clean the same area so using the same amount of electricity anyway?
I imagine poor design may lead to poor suction? Just checked mine and its 1400w and sucks like a good un, sorted the carpets when we had them. We have the henry tub with a tube out the side in work and they are awful and similar power I think.turbobloke said:
