Erm, call me silly, but see my earlier post.

I know, I know, I know, Im probably being horrible naive, dumb and logical in asking this question, but, wouldnt social services getting involved be as a result of continuous, repeated neglect? Otherwise as per my other post, they would be hauling in 60-70% of families across the country and every mother would go from beating herself up out of guilt for 1 day to slitting her wrists out of guilt!

Not really, but to millions in this country it is, because it provides something to moan about and an excuse to say he can't look after his own kids, so he can't run a country.
For those millions that's about as far as they want their news to go. Those same people are not going have have any interest in something like the Leveson inquiry or bank bailouts or anything that needs a tiny bit of thought or intelligence.

Because of who it is, definitely. Imagine Social Services now try to remove a child from a family because they left him or her behind...

ETA I keep trying to leave my teenage daughters behind but they can run faster than me these days.
Sorry, but what has who he is got to do with anything?

My Mum left me outside the post office when I was in a pram, my wife's mum left her in the super market at a similar age, I suspect the same thing happens to many parents everyday, but they don't make the news headlines.

Well. The Police get blamed for everything else, so why not this as well. Poor darling Dave. How can he possibly be expected to remember he has a child.

Make no mistake. The st will roll downhill.

Dave was probably pre-occupied with thoughts of windmills, pasties and how to shaft the populus without providing anything in return.

I wonder if his lunch was paid for from the public purse ? MP's expenses are one thing that will always remain sacred. No matter what happens.

Easily done when there are two cars involved even without bodyguards in the mix as well.

And it was eight weeks ago apparently so hardly hot news.

Indeed imagine if this was close protection on a foreign dignitary or high profile people and they lost a child.

Sunday lunch for the PM and his family at a pub just outside Chequers with Protection Officers. Maybe its just me, but Im thinking the Nation can stump for the PM to have lunch with his family. I dont really have a problem with Prime Ministers and their expenses to be honest as they are effectively never off duty. They are also very public, you dont get chance to fiddle or hide things like that. Yes, that answer also covers Tony and the one eyes Scottish moron when they had sunday lunch with their families aswell.
