Hmmm. A BLOG in the Torygraph. It simply MUST be 100% accurate... rolleyes
Ah VP we've missed you! So what is wrong with what is being said, care to point out any inaccuracies or are you just going to rolleyes and blame the telegraph?
For a start, the article's not even about Salmond, only in the indirect sense that he leads the Tory party. Note that AS was not even present in the SP when wee Jimmy Krankie was jeered...
Well, no the blog is about how the policies of the Scottish government giving away stuff for nothing are unsustainable - too expensive for Scotland to afford. Do you agree with that point of view or do you have an argument to contradict it?

Not sure why the location of Scamond is relevant or even who Jimmy Krankie is supposed to refer to.

I'm sorry, have the any party proposed a top tax rate of 95%?

Let's see how much the means testing to determine who should be and who should not be eligable for wholesale benefits will cost...

And talking about costs, what proportion of the social budget is Scotland's share of Trident?

And you don't seem to be following the basis for the blog (ignorant of Scottish politics?) if you do not undertand my reference...

No but it was a government under Margaret Thatcher (remember her?) who ended the lunacy of a top rate of UK tax of 98%

Somewhere between there and 50% would be good for, say, >£1M pa.

Wait...What? How is that showing the article as inaccurate? And how does it show that he indirectly leads the Tory party?
The inaccurate part is that the OP linked the article in reference to AS.

It works fine in the rest of the UK

Scrapping trident will cost Scotland money. Scotland is the bit of the UK where most of the cost of maintaining trident is spent, it's where the subs and missiles are based. Scotland will be worse off without trident,

I understand the basis for the blog but your puerile references to political figures by stupid names does wear a bit thin.

So are the references to Salmond by stupid names purile too? I'm just providing some parity.

And are you seriously saying that it would cost Scotland MORE not to have Trident? Really? Note that only the renewal of Trident will cost at least £35BN...

The fact that England and Wales do means testing does not mean that it is cost efficient...

So Scotland can afford all the benefits handed out at the moment then?
Remove trident and the cases attached to it and that's 5000direct jobs gone. Plus whatever indirect jobs.
I think most of the stupid names started from north of the border. I know I started using Scalmond when I got bored of some of your stupid names. I don't know who started it. Who is wee Jimmie crankie?

If you mean the real one then you need to slap yourself.

If you mean the SG politician, have a wild guess based on appearances...

Must try harder...

Firstly, your nickname Scalmond doesn't even work! Don't just try and copy Scameron (that DOES work as a play on words!). Some originality please. 2/10. wink

But he says 'Scalmond' which does not work. And Scamond is still just not original, is it? I am quite proud of 'wee Jimmy Krankie' though... biggrin

Edit: the nickname, NOT the person I hasten to add...

WGAF, its all diversionary bks to destract from some of the issues that are coming out as fat Alex's (and your) precious campaign for flag waving & face painting is unravelling by the day. But as you say, still 2 years to go & at this rate, by that time it will be a 99:1 vote in favour of the Union. Your cause is already dead in the water. laugh

Fat Alex should have just got on with it & had his vote quickly, it was the best chance he had, instead of which he is consigned to watching his dreams slip inexorably down the plug hole over the next two years. Couldn't happen to a nicer wker smile

The cause is already won to some extent. There are already more powers for the devolved parliament and more to come. Indendence may well come though 'death by a thousand cuts', so to speak. It may be a gradual process and, at some point we'll realise, 'Hey, we pretty much ARE independent'...

May have been the masterplan all along...

Thought you were the one who said no one would fall for Cameron's intimation of more powers following a no vote? Sounds very much like you have.

I agree with the master-plan concept - in that around 2014-2015 Holyrood will have to balance the books from local taxation, through powers ceded from Westminster....and much will be the wailing and gnashing of teeth, and the realisation by the Nationalists that there have been more than one "master-plans" in play....
