Thats one of the problems with modern Britain, racism is purely a one way street. The Rio Ferdinand Tweet, the black woman on the bus in Hackney spring to mind, Had either of those two been white all hell would have broke loose but theres a common train of thought that only white people can be racist. I imagine those poor girls that were groomed were thought to be racist by some of the people they confided in, as though they were trying to slur the local Pakistani community.
Issues like that lead to tensions between colour groups as any negative comment towards non-whites is immediately seen to be racially motivated. I'm not saying that the groups of Pakistani pedeophiles targeted girls based on their skin colour but you can bet your last pound that if it had been a group of white nonces targeting asian girls race would have been the first word in the headline.
Its the same if a white person gets attacked/killed by a black/asian etc person, its just an attack/murder. But if a black/asian etc person gets attacked/killed by a white person its always assumed to have a racial motive.

From the general Pakistani community? Similar to the general indigenous community I think. I.e it's a vile repulsive crime and the perpetrators should be castrated.If the girls in question had been in care homes I'm not sure if it would have made headlines at Friday prayers. If they had been living with their parents then, to be honest, I think the Pakistani community would have been wondering why the parents hadn't made sure their daughters were safe. Like most parents on here I keep a close eye on where my kids are, who they're with, and what they're up to. A factor is this case was that the girls didn't really have anybody who cared.

Religion = 'get out of jail' card for all but the most serious offences, And not even always then, it seems.
