Quite clearly BBC is still trying to hide stories about Vaz. I'm trying to remember who was the paranoid dimwit who was whining about it, but can't be arsed to look back.

Anyone hazard a guess of what crime is being investigated?

It appears he offered to reimburse the cost of drugs to a third party if that third party was to purchase them for their personal use. In the end they didn't.

We're leaving the EU, so there likely isn't one.

Damn, missed a trick with that leave vote.

I'm no legal beagle but it easily looks like he could have committed one of these:

Inchoate offences:

Incitement of any of the above offences - s.19 of the Act;
Participating in an offence (that corresponds with an offence under the Act) outside of the UK - s.20 of the Act;
Attempting to commit a drugs offence - Criminal Attempts Act 1981;
Conspiracy to commit a drugs offence - Criminal Law Act 1977;
Encouraging or assisting in the commission of an offence - Part 2 Serious Crimes Act 2007.

he procured the drugs but claims not to have used them(the evidence may support that as he was heard saying as much). However procuring is 'Intent to Supply'. He also allowed drugs to be taken in his property which is also an offence. See Misuse of Drugs Act. 'Poppers' is that stuff the gay scene inhale. In my day it was called 'Rush'. I had to google poppers such is my sheltered life . It's amyl nitrate which isn't illegal. There was also talk of paying for Cocaine (not using), paying.

It may have escaped MPs but this sort of BS is exactly why the Trumps of this world get elected. Vaz should be in prison, let alone sitting on some prestigious committee and frankly I'm bewildered as to why he hasn't been booted out of Parliament. It beggars belief

Has there been any procurement? It could perhaps be argued that offering to effectively pay for drugs that a third party purchased comes under the definition of supply, but it's stretching it in my opinion.

I cannot see any offence has been committed in relation to his property.

Are poppers unlawful?
