Not a gang, I know. But again demonstrating the different types of abuse that go on. Sexually assaulting a 2 year old. Heinous.

All paedophilia needs to be stamped out. I should have been on the second of two week's jury service, but was released from it yesterday after a 6 day trial. Two of my fellow jurors had previously served on abuse cases. I hope I never have to.

In other news, Catholics are wrong uns too: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-4651590...hehe

Basharat Khaliq, 38, of Deanwood Crescent, Bradford, is charged with five counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration

Saeed Akhtar, 55, of Back Girlington Road, Bradford, is charged with two counts of inciting child prostitution and one count of rape

Yasar Majid, 37, of Laxfield Drive, Milton Keynes, is charged with one count of rape

Naveed Akhtar, 43, of Newport Place, Bradford, is charged with three counts of rape

Parvaze Ahmed 36, of Farcliffe Road, Bradford, is charged with three counts of rape

Izar Hussain, 32, of St Leonard's Road, Bradford, is charged with three counts of rape and one count of attempted rape

Zeeshan Ali, 32, of Durham Terrace, Bradford, is charged with one count of sexual assault

Kieran Harris, 28, of Fir Parade, Dewsbury, is charged with two counts of rape

Faheem Iqbal, 27, of no fixed abode, is charged with aiding and abetting rape

Mohammed Usman, 31, of Quaker Street, Bradford, is charged with two counts of rape
I think there might be a pattern here, but I'm struggling to see it.

I was going to go for - their names on a scrabble board with a double word score is highly impressive.

The first page of the thread makes it clear that it’s about colour and trying to smear anyone of one particular religion.
No, I was the OP on this thread and it was most certainly not supposed to be about colour or religion, but actually was about trying to understand the mentality of perpetrators of crimes like this.. In fact, when some people mentioned colour I immediately posted this:

I was trying to avoid any reference to ethnicity, back ground or religious beliefs. I don't know the make up of the 8 accused.
You read about individual abusers of all types and colours. I suppose I look upon those people as loners acting out their sick fantasies. What I don't get at all is the idea of a gang, a group, getting together in this way. Does none of them ever say "hang on a moment guys, we shouldn't be doing this to a 12 year old kid" ?
Gangs or groups was what I was trying to understand specifically (ie, the bit in bold) .

55 is a big number. Hopefully anyone involved these crimes, now or in the past, is going to get a knock on the door.

I agree, the worrying thing is that there may be more who have slipped the net .
Hopefully this may dissuade anybody else following in their grubby footsteps.

I’m currently skiing with a friend who is in the police (I’m not saying which one, but force is relevant to these sex crimes) - his view is that you can add three zeroes onto the end of that figure.

Bound to be the case, but as well as dissuading others, it’ll hopefully embolden victims to come forward knowing that there’s now a good chance of prosecutions.

Agree with all of the above. regrettably, because these offences were given time to fester, as the system juggled their misplaced, politically motivated priorities, it is complex for the police to now unravel but, given time, they are proving tenacious and highly effective.

Have I read that right? Your mate thinks there are up to 55,000 perpetrators out there?

I suspect that very little gets reported, as the woman doesn't want to be stoned to death or forced to marry her attacker.

Why would you guess that? He hasn’t said anything that links the grooming with “race”.

Is that a pigeon chess move you have just played there?
