Based on the UK demographic as I'm sure you know there is proportionally a high rate of Pakistani born, bred or educated Muslims who are grooming young predominantly while girls.

^This. I don't think (now) either the police, media or government can be assused of dodging the issue, or sweeping it under the carpet. There are operations that require secrecy, in the same way as certain legal processes also require a lack of media coverage in order to avoid the prosecution being jeopardised by defence claims of unfair trial, but nothing is being covered up.

In parallel to the abuse, there is also now a separate (but linked) campaign, called County Lines, which overlaps where certain of these gangs are involved in other criminal activities and exploitation of vulnerable individuals. Less well know and publicised (for now at least) but it is all there.
