Definitely should be a law stopping criminals from anywhere arriving in the UK and seemingly setting up with impunity. Well there is one, actually, but like the original CSA lot, no one seems to want to tackle the issue.

Freedom of movement, half the general public were very supportive of it

10% of the foreign criminals in U.K. jails are Albanians, Albania isn’t even in the eu, how did they get in? Remember the big time gangster living in London ? Didn’t he slip in from Holland? I suppose the issue is If other eu countries hand out passports/visas like sweets then they can then travel to any eu country

Turkey is similar - every time must have half a dozen barbers, all cash in hand. How have so many Turks made it in ??

One I was talking too came in via Ireland, apparently its the easiest way into the UK legally, the Irish are pretty lenient in who they let in and give a Irish passport to.

It's one of my biggest beefs with the EU really. I am fine with immigration - it's normal, it works, most of the time.

What I am not happy with is free, unfettered travel for terrorists, criminals and the systems in place over the last decades have been clearly deficient.

We also - and this is also most definitely apropos of the cases in the OP - have too be far, far better and more robust WRT integration.

Yet Cameron’s eu pamphlet, without a hint of irony, this quote ‘ EU cooperation makes it easier to keep criminals and terrorists out of the UK‘. How’s that working out Dave? Wherever you are, at home with your bread maker. People can see what is happening they aren’t stupid, gangs operating with impunity, and criminals being prevented from being deported by students on a plane! And that davey boy, is why we voted brexit.

Was all, patently horsest.

Everyone knows how poorly resourced the Borders Agency has been and how staff and budgets were cut.

The bigger issue in relation to the abuse cases in the OP has been a failure to integrate and assimilate many immigrants, to the point we see communities of non-integrated individuals, ghettos (although I hesitate to use that word in recognition of what it actually represents in, say, the USA) with view a long, long way of the beaten track of liberal, Western norms and even laws.

We're utterly useless at re-assimilation our own citizens, returning from serving in our armed forces, so it really should not be a surprise.

Great isn’t it. I reckon most of it can be traced back to ‘bigotgate’ where Gordon brown exposed just how deep the hatred goes for anyone that doesn’t agree with the political ideology.

Quite a few Eastern European and former Soviet State mafia members claimed asylum here in the late 90's/early 2000's claiming "police persecution".

If there's a loophole, criminals will always exploit it. What's new?

It's believed one may have been abused by 28 men, with another linked to 23.

I’ll bet a testicle all the perpetrators are club carding holders of the Wee Free Kirk of Scotland.

The abuse is abhorrent, in and of itself, but the attempts to cover - in this and many other similar cases - up are a disgusting twist of political correctness and misplaced public responsibility. Something is rotten at the core that these common retrials repeat.

This thread is 8 years old now and the cover up has been going on for nay on twenty years while the authorities have rubbished and accused of racism anyone who dares speak up about it.

It is in effect state sanctioned rape of underage girls on a mass scale all in the name of community cohesion.

Problem is they covered it up and there is still very little community cohesion. So they completely failed on both counts.
