Anyone know what it's like at Bristol airport, my niece is sitting in a Spanish airport with a delayed plane, wants to know if she should say stuff it and go back home
I'll double check but they said Bristol Airport was closed at 8.30am.

Here you go: http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/bristol/publictran...
Bristol Airport is pretty rural and pretty elevated. When it snows they usually get it very heavy there, I'd take a guess that nothing will be going in or out of there today.

Sun's shining in Edinburgh! Not a snowflake to be seen.

I did try and do my bit by going out and panic buying, but there's a shortage of shortages.

Nothing to see here, just a bit of winter. Few inches of snow is nowt to panic about, although the queues (apparently) in the local supermarkets last night would have you believe otherwise.

Depends how the cloud moves - the south-easterly wind *might* keep it clear of you. http://www.meteox.co.uk/h.aspx?r=&jaar=-3&...

Media being it's usual ttty self.

Worcestershire County Council website went down this morning, just for one hour due to overload on one bit of hardware. Got it up and running in one hour, uprated part on courier to be installed this afternoon.

Twerpy presenter on BBC H&W makes out as if it's the end of the world as parents weren't sure for 59 minutes whether to send the kiddywinks to school or not. ffs I walked to and from junior school when the snow was deeper than my height.

Starting to snow in lufs now. Driving back to Middlesbrough this afternoon and there better be no one playing silly sods on the M1/M18/A1/M1/A19. Seriously, around here the moment snow begins to fall everyone forgets how to drive.

Yesterday it snowed a little, but it wasn't settling on the roads. For me this scenario is approximately the same as if it was raining on a cold day. What that happens everyone manages to drive normally, so how come, as soon as the rain drops turn to snow flakes, everyone suddenly drives around like a bunch of nonces?

I mean literally the snow hits the tarmac and turns to water. The same end result as rain hitting the tarmac. There should be no difference in grip levels. Just drive as if it was a cold wet day and you'll be fine.

Isn't it slightly odd to see the representative of the Advance Motorist standing by a main road and telling people not to make journeys unless it is vital. Could he not have said these words from his home? What was vital about traveling to a main road to say one line and then leave?
