let's be honest as an orator he makes mincemeat of most of the current crop of politicos today. I'd happily put up JR-M against him, ditto Dan Hannan and possibly Farage (like him or loathe him, like Blair, he can speak)
May have been true once upon a time. Now he has too much baggage for most people to listen to him at all. Personally I think Dan Hannan (amongst others) would be the one making mincemeat. (Farage too in limited areas)

That's a bit harsh...

I'll give you, he is an odious and pernicious apology for a human being, like a festering turd in the septic tank of life, but let's not get personal about it.

Blair was interviewed by someone on the Home Service last week, the programme should have been entitled "Megalomaniac control freaks of our time".

But the new report by Mr Blair's Institute for Global Change says EU nationals should already have an offer of work when they arrive.
Those who did not earn permission to stay would be banned from opening a bank account, renting a home or claiming benefits.
The report also proposes restricting free healthcare for unemployed migrants and letting universities charge EU nationals higher tuition fees than UK students.

I hope not. I've been saving for a return to uni and Europe seemed quite good value compared to England.

Good to see Mr Slimy trying to get back in the news. Just a shame that he's so deluded that he honestly believes that others respect his views.
A truly nasty piece of work.

It would appear that your views are not shared by Lord Harris, he whose activities caused someone to say that money polluted politics.

He reckons that he'd rather have a labour government led by Blair than ta tory party with its present leader.

So whether Blair's views are respected or just his leadership qualities, not everyone dismisses him.

funny how he comes out with this bks of stay in the EU but with much tighter Immigration controls just after kissing the ring piece of Junker.
They literally made Cameron look like a fool when he asked for help and all of a sudden this. Maybe they are starting to realise the value of us as members just a bit too late. All Blair will do is strengthen peoples resolve to leave.

The guy is a total prick. He's not bothered about limiting immigration now - the damage is done, the block vote is here. All Labour has to do is sit back and let nature take it's course.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that everyone dismisses him !

In my humble opinion, he is very likely to go down in history as one of the most disliked leaders in recent decades. Of course, not everybody will agree - I assume Cherie [another nasty piece] still loves him........

Despicable though he is, and untrustworthy as he has proved, I still reckon I was right to vote for him in '97. The tories were a shambles; there was infighting and internal wranglings with everyone vying for the top job or at least to have influence over whoever was voted in. (Well, at least they've turned away from such self indulgences.) In his first period he wasn't as bad as the broken tory party would have been.

There was a massive swing to labour (was it a record?) and much of it was down to the self inflicted damage done by the MPs. The party would do well to remember this in their dealings with May. May isn't for turning. I seem to remember that Thatcher said something similar a day or two before she was pushed into a position where she had to retire.

Politics is normally quite volatile. The current situation with a less than stable leadership, with their biggest benefactor attacking May, and the brexit negotiations being reported to be in a parlous state, the party needs to consider the future.

Agree about Blair, and what's to say Lord Carpet got it right about Theresa Mayhem.

Views on May are ten a penny everywhere and few are positive since she cocked up the election. That's not to say she'll cock up brexit - we must wait and see about that.
