Why the fk was Sophie Ridge (Sky) interviewing TB again this morning.

WTF has this got to do with him anymore?

I would love to see a league table of MP's and it would show their Wealth when they first arrive at Westminster and then again when they leave or say over a 10 year period. Blair , Kinnock and the likes of Mandy are all now very wealthy men

Kinnock (and family!) are good point in question.
We as a country virtually gave him two fingers after his seaside fall and that disastrous 'We're Alright!' (or was it 'Well Alright'?) he yelled again and again in 92. What happens? He and Glenys (and 'even' Stephen) get the coffers filling with his EU moneybox, and from the Lords, so much so Neil alone apparently made £10Million from the EU in as many years.

As said above the swear word is appropriate. VERY appropriate.
But what do you expect from those whose entire ambition is to board a gravy train - any one going!

Good Post, you hit the Nail firmly on the head there. All the dinner speeches, and endorsements these people seem to generate is yet another source of income and they revel in it. They do not have the public interest at heart, just themselves and if anyone thinks otherwise they are deluded and nieve!

Similar happened with comrade Prescott too. He and his family did very nicely out of various bits of cronyism, enabled by his political position.

Some piggies always want to be more equal.

The Picture of Tony 'Dorian' Blair

Whenever Tony Blair crawls out from under a sun-baked stone to give us his 'wisdom' on the Brexit issue I am reminded of Oscar Wilde's 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'.

But in Blair's case it's not a picture that records every amoral sin of his corrupted soul but it's his own leathery, orange face with it's ever widening st-eating grin.

Euurgh: Makes my skin creep!

He definitely has the look of a man haunted, I'm just not sure it's not his wife, rather than guilt over his actions that is the cause.

One of the reasons I voted Leave.
How the fk did Kinnock get that gig when the British electorate voted him down at two GE's (or was it three?). They told him in no uncertain terms they did NOT want him.
And then he gets to decide/shape policy as a Commissioner or VP of the EC.
Isn't Juncker another who didn't get voted in in his own country (I may be confusing him with someone else)?

I'm no fan of Kinnock, but if he'd been younger and leading labour instead Milliband or Corbyn, we'd have a labour government.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Claude_Juncker#Premiership

Gist is that the security services of Luxembourg (where he was PM) were bugging foreign politicians. He knew about it so had to carry the can. He denied it (natch!) and new elections were forced on him

Less than a year later he was President. Everyone bar Cameron and Orban (Hungary) voted for his appointment (presumably raising their snouts to do so!)

Sometime in 2020 he will be at the end of his term. Where it's obvious his replacement will be Martin Selmayr (another equally dodgy tt!)

I loathe Blair and almost everything he did, but in the "what have the Romans ever done for us?" spirit of the thread, one resounding success during his premiership was our military intervention in Sierra Leone.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_military_i...

It was also remarkable for the relatively low media profile, given how obsessed Blair seemed to be with gaining huge media attention for his other stupid ideas, and of course his idiotic adventures in Mesopotamia.

That’s no surprise. He always cared more about his place in the scheme of things rather than his Country’s.

Just like all of them, self interested, egotistical, megalomaniacs.
