In 1983 he campaigned to leave the EEC or at least have a referendum on the subject. He claims to be a huge Europhile and lover of all things EU and wanted us to join the Euro.....yet during his whole tenure he cosied up to the US and GWB putting a huge emphasis on the special relationship.
Despite protestations he then completely ignored the EU/commission and went to war in Iraq with the Americans?
