It's all them pesky Chinese lanterns - especially at this time of the year.

Kilnhurst, Yorkshire. 3rd time on this site since 2017.

Apparently caused by an exploding battery.

Another one in a clothing recycling plant, so maybe slightly different.

Kidderminsrer, two major fires, major pollution incident, despite previous warnings from EA and HW Fire and Rescue.

Suspended sentences and a bit of community litter picking. They'll regard that as a right result.

That place refurbishes white goods, the fire was caused by a fault with a fridge during routine testing so perhaps a little different to most in the thread.

Risible sentencing. Not even a proper fine.

With places like that, assuming that we always discount accidents on this thread, my first thought is always a nocturnal visit from the competition. No benefit to the incumbent of his stock going up in flames.

Near hull, the trans waste site at Melton was on fire yesterday. Last fire there was at the back end of November last year

Even the local mp is wondering what the ea is doing

I have already spoken with local councillor Julie Abraham about today's fire. The Environment Agency have questions to answer on this.

I think the EA because it is supposed to oversee such sites and having one set on fire again so soon after it last set on fire points towards some sort of regulatory failure
