Lecomte is the only source of that information, so when the director of a holiday resort states something always assume it might be to protect his business.
I'd wait for official news.
Yup, exactly this. It's too soon to tell, especially with head injuries. We need a report from the doctors treating him, or his family. Until then, it's all speculation and therefore just noise.I'd wait for official news.

Sensibly he was wearing a helmet so its likely he should be ok.
Wonder how many skiiers don't wear helmets who end up having a nasty accident.
When I last went skiing in Austria a couple of years ago, I was surprised to see how many more people were using helmets than when I last went. Wonder how many skiiers don't wear helmets who end up having a nasty accident.
I'd say about 99% of skiers were using them.
I hope he's not too badly hurt and makes a full recovery.
Head injuries are a bd; things can go very bad, very quickly. One minute you can be chatting to someone normally, the next they can be in a coma.
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I had no time for him at all as a competitor but he always seemed like a very decent chap off the track. His Top Gear appearance especially was a revelation.
Hope he pulls through ok.

The Dauphiné Libéré newspaper reported after his transfer to Grenoble that Schumacher was suffering from a severe brain trauma but that his injuries were not life-threatening.
His spokeswoman has also said that they cannot (understandably) issue a continuous stream of updates on his condition. Here's hoping MS makes a speedy and complete recovery.
