The UK did great in the medal table in the 2012 olympics. Home nations always seem to particularly well at olympics. Could it be in part because it’s handier to maintain your “preparation/ special ribena ” when not having to travel with it?

I must admit to not really getting the over indulgent grief about Salazar. I mean the bloke technically died trying to win a marathon. Just exactly what personality type did people think they were dealing with??!

From what I’ve read about what has been revealed so far, it’s not so much the mega processed systematic doping program but a lab experiment of random Go Faster juices. Christ knows what’s in some of this stuff but I’d be seriously bloody worried if I was Mo about what Albertos been putting in my water bottle all these years!!!

He is one of the worst people in sport.

Total tt.
Nike ambassador too - well until it was pointed out that it was a conflict of interest.

And Salazar was at a nike training camp, along with all the others.
All I need to know about him is that he insists on his number displaying, not his surname as all the other athletes, but "Sir Mo". tt.

I wonder if drug taking affects the hearing as well - I'm sure I recall drug testers came knocking, only for him to say he didn't hear the doorbell. haha

The Kipchoge thing is a bit more beliveable maybe - he set a junior world record for 5k that stood for over ten years, he's been incredible for some time. Obviously the sub 2 thing isn't as impressive as his Berlin run but you'd be hard pushed to say he came from nowhere. to give some contect, Kipchoge ran a 20 second faster 5k at 17 or 18 than Farah managed as a PB when he was 5 or 6 years older. And you'd have to say Kipchoge is a marathon man, and Farah is a shorter distance man...

Some good stats on Kipchoge - this is Berlin Mara

"The second half of the race in 1:00:33 is faster than all but three American half-marathon times"

And I also read that of the 53 million parkruns that have happend, only 5 have been run quicker than the pace he needed to run for the whole marathon for the sub 2 hehe
