Interesting armour emblems for the Russian victory parade.
Orange and black for St Andrew mixed with a soviet era star.
A strange mix of symbolism... religion combined with an almost self-pitying "memory of the old days"
You do realise that the star is the official Russian Federation's military sign right?Orange and black for St Andrew mixed with a soviet era star.

I think your judgement born out of ignorance is not doing you any favours. It just became apparent to me that you view everything through an anti-russian prism and will find something evil even if they announced a rainbow unicorn breeding programme.

Nothing sets off the olive drab of your new APC like a set of go-faster stripes. Orange and black for St Andrew mixed with a soviet era star.

Nice try. In fact skyrover has been astute in his details and references, which is probably why you posted as you did.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_ranks_and_insign...

It's interesting how several ex-soviet countries banned it as symbol of totalitarianism

Short of full scale war what's the point? They're white elephants that have spent more time moldering on aprons and in hangars than in active service, the reconstruction of the existing ones took vast amounts of time and money. I can't think of any export customers apart from China and I doubt Volodya wants to sell to them.

OH NOES, everyone quick, prepare your bunkers, the Nazis are back and they are about to gas us all! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!1111oneoneone
Your constant moving the goalposts is pathetic, I prove you wrong on one point, you only deflect and make it about something else... tedious.
The swastika is banned, the iron cross is not a symbol of nazism,... stop trying to muddy the waters
In other news....
Looks like the European parliament is going possibly going to press for international sanctions and prosecution for those involved with the continued detainment of Ukrainian pilot Nadia Savchenko
Source: The European Press Office
Surely the Russian authorities by now have realized keeping her detained is a huge own goal? If she dies in a Russian prison, she will become a marty, causing more damage than if she was simply released to be lost into the black hole of Ukrainian politics.

All gone quiet over the supposed suspects in the killing of Boris Netsmov. I guess Putin thinks the world has fallen for his cover story and it'll all be forgotten about.
The primary fall guy, sorry 'suspect', Zaur Dadaev, has withdrawn his confession saying that he was forced into confessing by Russian police.

Duh.
The rest of your post is nonsense, as usual. "Dubious."

This article is quite interesting, especially the graphic that compares Russia against the UK and US.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/vladimir...
If conventional war were to break out, the Ruskies would be pummeled pretty quickly on the basis of that info, obviously nukes change everything.

I think those figures are massively out-of-date/overstated. The Uk army is being reduced to an effective strength of 82k, not 146k and most of those aren't "front-line" troops - lots will be in logistics, medical etc functions, and when orders were given to bomb Syria, the RAF could muster only 4 Tornados that actually bloody worked - that would barely trouble Estonia, let alone Russia.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/vladimir...

I don't think Putin is after all-out war anyway - nibbling away at the edges is more his style.

I don't think Putin has any ambitions with regard to UK and it's sad that he is being used to whip up paranoia and defence budgets. Though I agree that British military is underfunded and should be restored, though by restored I don't mean outsourced...I don't think Putin is after all-out war anyway - nibbling away at the edges is more his style.

The one that, a number of years ago, got within 5 miles, running due west, of the Humber estuary whilst carrying out loft manouver certainly wasn't decrepit that's for sure..Mojocvh said:

They refurbished them, but it took a huge amount of time and money for so few aircraft. Their defence procurement is clearly being managed by the same flavour of mandarin as the MOD.Wikipedia said:
Although Kuznetsov designed an NK-32M engine with improved reliability over the troublesome NK-32 engines, its successor company has struggled to deliver working units. Metallist-Samara JSC had not produced new engines for a decade when it was given a contract in 2011 to overhaul 26 of the existing engines, by two years later, only four were finished. Ownership and financial issues hinder the prospects of a new production line; the firms insists it needs a minimum of 20 engines ordered per year but the government is only prepared to pay for 4-6 engines per year.
