This pertains to "war with Russia" how? Oh that's right it just supports your rationalisation: Russia=evil
It is interesting.
ON the news today, everytime this FIFA thing was mentioned, the question, 'why now?' Was put forward.
After reading Putin's interesting and mildly surprising attack, perhaps it's another avenue of brinksmanship? The US has been shown to be outmanoeuvred and effectively irrelevant in the article referencing Kerry on the last page, sanctions look t o be coming to an end. So another way to jab at Putin?

Tut tut, Wash your mouth out - they are 'former' soldiers that are either holidaying in Ukraine, or lost.

Please stay on-message.

Maybe deserves a thread of its own for comedy value, but apparently Nick Clegg is banned from entering Russia

Yep, quite a few Europeans on that list, I bet they are all hastily trying to rearrange their expensive summer holiday plans now.......

NOT.

Russia masses heavy firepower on border with Ukraine - witness
Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up Krokodil.

Apparently the Soviet Russian regime has been using mobile crematoria to avoid a stream of body bags heading home and weakening support for their little war.

Recently, there has been little in the mainstream media about the conflict, I had almost forgotten about it.

Mobile crematoria, who would have thought.

It just seems the usual selective outrage, how dare they do something the UK has done for decades.
"gagging" to hear where we have been doing "it" [ooerr] for decades since Oman, really, don't be shy, let us see your sources then..
The UK troop loses in Oman were suppressed in the media, they were not reported, exactly what Putin is doing. The SAS loses at the battle of Mirbat for example. Let us not start getting into the world of government sponsored PMCs. A.K.A mercenaries.

The moral high ground is hard to maintain, when everyone is playing dirty, the Russians are playing by well established rules.

Reminds me of mobile weapons labs propaganda from the Gulf War.
Given Uncle Sam's retreat, this would appear to be damage control. That said, I don't underestimate neo-con stupidity. laugh

Edit: An interesting and related discussion on failed US policy and associated propaganda in Ukraine with Princeton Professor Stephen F. Cohen

Interesting that.

Another interesting fact would be the answer to the question - just when did Russia last tell the truth...?

Look up battle of Mirbat: find medal ceremony held 3 years later in secret. Read autobiography of troopers involved in battle, find the death of Fijian trooper withheld from media. A secret war in a foreign country. Suppressed info on casualties.

Does that sound familiar to V Putin at all? Secret war, suppressed casualties from media? I guess only the Russians do it.

One way to draw massive attention to the fact that you have thousands of your own troops fighting in another country, straight after repeatedly denying that they are there - is to sanction a law like Putin has.

Does he think the rest of the world is f*ckin stupid or what?

Hardly secret war.....more, uninteresting war. It's not covered much because there's not much interest in it. All f the info on it is available if your really interested.

Again you avoid qualifying your "decades" statement.

You know, some people who read these threads might start thinking YOU'RE JUST MAKING THINGS UP.

It's not for the rest of the world... it's to keep his own people in the dark and to muddy the waters.

He can only stay in power as long as he keeps the people on side.
