Most of them seem to not like Putin but at the same time they think it did better than his predecessors.
Discounting the mini-me Medvedev episode, given his predecessor was boozy Boris Yeltsin that's not a difficult target.
Yes, yet to find a Russian saying that the Yeltsin did something good for their country in his 8 years.

Without getting too much into it - there are tactics employed by both the USAF and RAF that counter the Russian AA defence network using current equipment.
Nope. We sold all the Harriers, remember.

That'll be a given. If it where to come to war all we'd need to do is destroy the tugs. In an instant their fleet wouldn't be able to leave port.

I see the Russian aircraft carrier is expected to sail close to UK waters in the next few days.

But it's OK because we can shadow it with our long range maritime patrol aircraft.

Oh, hold on...

Practice against pirates? Surely they should be off Somalia, or Tortuga.

Was reported in July (updated report in October) that it was for air operations in Syria by none other than RT themselves - https://www.rt.com/news/349279-russia-aircraft-car...

Then it was delayed because they had no pilots trained on the aircraft they intended to use - http://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/russias-...

Scherzkeks while it's nice to have a broad range of opinions and views on these forums, lets be real.

There is no good and bad guys. Only Russians looking out for Russia's best interests and the US doing likewise.

They both spy on eachother, they both interfere in elections, they both seed dissent, they both have strategic interests outside their own borders and they both have definitely done and will continue to do unsavory things because they think it will benefit them.

Isn't the Kuznetsov + fleet trundling through the north sea making a nuisance of themselves? High risk given the russian navy's propensity for breaking down at sea; it would be amusing if my ship ends up towing a knackered red frigate out of a rig's exclusion area. hehe

Very accurate. One point to note though is on balance of how bad a countries actions are the US and Europe are way ahead of Russia on the Syrian situation. There would have been much less bloodshed and misery if the US and rest of west had kept their noses out of Syria Business.
