I dont think so. They have nothing imo . Now i dont even believe its in the sea.
Tony Abbott quoted on the 11th April by BBC

Australian leader Tony Abbott says authorities are confident that signals heard in the Indian Ocean are coming from the "black box" flight recorders of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

This, it is a whole science that both the UK and US spent a small fortune on mastering in the Cold War. It is a great shame that HMS Tireless or an equivalent wasn't in the areas much earlier when the box was 'live'.

I'm not convinced they even know where the area is, never mind which bit of the area to look in.

Me neither. No one has yet explained the massive slice of luck involved in suddenly searching a new area and detecting a 'signal'. The planes were originally searching over a thousand miles south west of the place where they suddenly decided to look for signals.

Some ones telling porkies somewhere,
Is there an actual authoritative bit of info on this, rather than someone said?

Maybe they have not chucked one in the deeper parts to see if they can find it.
What wiki says

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underwater_locator_be...

2 - 6 kilometres.... Which must mean they must be almost on top of it to find it in 4500m depth of water.....

Doesn't stack up to me.
Never sure of wiki. Who edited, what context they are using etc. Uses terms such as "can be" etc. The link the article in wiki uses is more forthcoming.

Or not, as the case may be.

Even the Express has got hold of the possibility of it having landed somewhere. Better than the almost daily cures for my (current) arthritis and (expected) dementia...lol....

How do they find space for it in amongst the conspirabks about Diana being murdered by a crack unit of renegade SAS directed by Phil the Greek via MI6?

Or 'luck' = data from a hunter/killer sub that is kept quiet to preserve secrecy on how good its detection kit is wink

Probably lots of things we are not told. And probably nothing untoward if you were to stand back and look at the whole picture with a dispassionate eye. Reading how they found the lost nukes in the med and lost submarines, there are ways and means and we are not going to get all the information spoon fed us first hand. They will not go to the internet and say "hey google experts, scan this for us and see if it is legit".

ABC is reporting that "material" washed ashore on the SE of WA has been secured by Police and that the ATSB is examining photos of it to see if it is related to the flight.

More experts checking photos - seems to be an ongoing theme.

smile Creates a lot of employment and fills the column inches. Whats not to like?

Meanwhile presumably at some point some evidence will be found and authenticated. Question is where really?
