Did Burger not include the share of UK spending too?

I read him as saying if you take the devolved money (say £55bn ish last year) plus the allocated share of UK spending on defence, debt, etc (say £10bn ish last year) then Scotland's taxes > Scotland's expenditure.

It really would be good if he could, oh I don't know...

SHOW US THE EVIDENCE smile

Edinburger said:
We get back in the devolved settlement plus our allocated share of UK spend

less than we send to the Treasury

and that has been the case for 33 years.
I'm not sure what "has been the case for 33 years" is, either. Does he mean each of the 33 years?? Shirley not.

Just as news emerges that Jim Murphy's "attack" may have come from his own security team, or worse still UK security services, he still proclaims that the yes side are responsible for him having to cancel his 100 day tour.

Whilst in Edinburgh, an old man in his 80's was physically assaulted, suffering a broken wrist and cuts and bruises in the process of campaigning for the Yes side. Yet oddly enough the only newspaper to run with the Story was the Edinburgh Evening News. Link: http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/scottis...

I hope Edinburgh's CCTV, of which there is plenty of around the Royal Mile is able to be used to identify her, so the police can catch up with this woman and have a wee word.

If, as is being claimed that the "attack" on Jim Murphy was a stunt so he could make his vile remarks, then there should be a calls for his resignation. For Darling to tell lies in a debate is one thing, but for an MP to actively seek to create a false situation in order to bring disrepute on an opposing side is simply intolerable. Jim, yer tea's oot!!!

There are claims from the yes side who want to put doubt in people's minds, damage limitation.

Of course you believe them hook line and sinker because your bias shines through with every post.

I don't know what happened or by who but carry on with the conspiracy theories if it makes you happy.

Whatever you say mate......if Jim Murphy knew it was a hoax, then why did he seek to discredit and blame Yes supporters in the way that he did then? I'm looking forward to your answer....

What certainly wasn't a hoax was the inexcusable physical attack on an old man in his 80s....or would you prefer not to comment on that? Didn't think so...

As you were!!!

Do we really need yet another Scottish Referendum thread?

Surely this could have been discussed on the perfectly serviceable and active thread we have already?

Wtf are you talking about? The claim that the egg thrower was security services because of the guy with the earpiece was a hoax, they admit it right there in the link.

Parrot returned in box unopened, as unwa(rran)ted gift....

Shall we stick to simple facts for you?

Murphy got egged and blames Yes side.... Indisputable Fact!!!

Main shouter-down of Murphy claims on facebook egg thrower was not part of his company.... Who's to say who is telling the truth? Fact!!!

No counter-claim from Murphy, which does sound as a little odd in the circumstances. Fact!!!

Murphy's security team fails to move in to apprehend "attackers", or even shield him from further "attacks", again this is most unusual. Fact!!!

The words piss-up, brewery, complete, utter and failure spring to mind when I think of the whole sorry affair. Either Jim Murphy has the most inept security on the planet, or something's a bit fishy.....

Actually I was referring to comments made on Facebook by the guy who was doing the shouting-down of Jim Murphy, not comments made by Yes Scotland on the matter.

This isn't about the referendum per se - it's about press impartiality, but never mind - as you were!!!...

As an aside I believe there are currently 3 topics running on the independence issue.

No but it's looking likely that Jim Murphy did though.....

I see you've chosen not to comment about the Edinburgh pensioner who was physically attacked causing a broken wrist amongst other injuries for simply singing a song in the street..... Why's that? Don't you have an answer for that despicable behaviour? Edinburgh has loads of CCTV in the area and thankfully it's now a police matter.

How exactly did you come to this conclusion? Just spouting a load of bks and saying 'fact' at the end doesn't make it true

What is there to say? The woman never said anything to the guy, you're the one who has jumped to the conclusion she's a No voter. Maybe she was French? If you hold up an offensive placard that reads "time to rid us of the scourge of the Normans" then perhaps someone is going to be offended? Do you think the response would have been any different if you replaced 'Normans' with something else? 'Muslims' for example? Or 'Scots'?
