The problem with celebrating SGD is that, if you are indeed English, you don't want to make a fuss. Everyone knows we are great so we don't have to wave a flag to prove it.

I must admit I like that about the English. They/we have the same conceit as every other nation but feel it inappropriate to stuff it down the throat of others. Possibly because we don't really care what the others think.

In my day there wasn't an England, just Britain. Shame that ended.
