Is Ed Balls the most annoying politician ever?

Which part are you struggling with dear?
Sorry if that particular phrase upsets you but what Is happening in towns and cities around the country is tantamount to social cleansing - the phrase was coined by a (yes, I know) Labour backbencher and repeated in left-wing press/media nationwide.
Contrast that with the childish comment questioning Millibands parentage and the piss poor analogy the poster attempted to make with my 'whistle blower' comment.
If you're still struggling with the concept maybe the chuckle brothers posting earlier could help you out (once they've remove the 'petard' naturally).
Good luck
Apologies for the late response and leaving aside your patronising tone (glib, perhaps?), i'm merely questioned your apparent lack of awareness in making the two comments you did.Sorry if that particular phrase upsets you but what Is happening in towns and cities around the country is tantamount to social cleansing - the phrase was coined by a (yes, I know) Labour backbencher and repeated in left-wing press/media nationwide.

The phrase doesn't upset me frankly, but i certainly do think the attempts by the predominantly left wing press / political spectrum to associate this policy with cleansing "policies" - ethnic, social or otherwise - which traditionally has resulted in the attempted elimination of large numbers of humans is distasteful to say the least. Nothing about this is "tantamount" to that - perhaps you best look up the definition of that word?
Incidentally, i'm too hairy to be a "dear". "Bear" perhaps?
Edited due to poor grammar, before i'm hoisted by the grammar nazis. Oh dear i seem to have made an inappropriate association...

It's an emotive phrase used to solicit a response by emotive people.
You really need to read some of the reports published describing the position a great deal of families find themselves in - social cleansing is rather more polite than some of the comments I've read.
Of course you're correct - no one is being killed, no one is disappearing overnight but the phrase used wasn't social genocide was it?
I wouldn't worry too much about the grammar police - actually, having read your edit it seems you're not too concerned anyway
Hopefully that's it all squared up for you.

Unsurprisingly, he seems exactly the sort of 'man' to receive worship from the majority of posters in this thread.
Not in the slightest, like so many politicians of all colour rosettes he sounds like a nasty piece of work. I'm pretty certain no one here has even hinted at anything other.mybrainhurts said:

I know I've taken it out of context, but that line caught my eye.Got me thinking and, with a picture of Eddie baby in mind, I reckon there's a bit of hairy baboon in there somewhere...

Now, quick shave round the chops and you get...

Crystal balls or a touch of arrogance?
Explain this for me if you have the time - disabled wheelchair users riddled with cancer with weeks/months to live have their benefits cut and/or stopped because the private company given the contract by this fine government decide they're fit for work. Hopefully, some are still alive to see the end of the protracted appeals procedure. Whistle blowers have claimed these decisions were made at top level - default is to cut everything then sort it out if appeals are lodged.
Once you've dealt with that would you care to move onto social cleansing masquerading as the bedroom tax?
Statistics might well prove middle classes are bearing the brunt of cuts but 20% of a decent living doesn't really compare to something like a 7% cut when you're on the breadline# or 100% if you fall foul of the 'roolz'.
I wonder what would have happened to the so called "socially cleansed" had Labour stayed in power, with the UK in bankruptcy?Explain this for me if you have the time - disabled wheelchair users riddled with cancer with weeks/months to live have their benefits cut and/or stopped because the private company given the contract by this fine government decide they're fit for work. - breadline - NOT having to chop in the third car to pay for private tuition...

Keep wondering, it didn't happen and everything would be guesswork.fblm said:

You've borrowed "social cleansing" from "ethnic cleansing". The latter is the removal and/or killing of an ethnic group. Are you suggesting the government is pursuing a deliberate programme to rid the country of the "poor"?

Presumably that was fiscal cleansing.

You've made a few jumps there haven't you?Are you suggesting the government is pursuing a deliberate programme to rid the country of the "poor"?
I 'borrowed' nothing and I'm not suggesting anyone is trying to rid the country of anyone.
It's obviously just a coincidence that current government policy means poor people having to move from affluent areas to places less affluent.
Are those areas being 'cleansed' of the poor and those on benefits?
Do your own reading and come to your own conclusions.

Luckily for those most at risk this fine pile'o'ste have done everything in their power to close the gap and they find themselves in a far better place (even if that place is 100 miles away and has no spare bedroom...).Presumably that was fiscal cleansing.

Luckily for everyone including the relatively poor, the economy is back in competent hands and growing at a healthy rate, having been removed from the malign effects of people like Balls & Co.Sleep easy
Sleep easy...sure, sweet dreams guaranteed every night - don't like cheese, so go in for dairy cleansing.

The gap has widened and three million children now classed as 'in poverty' but not to worry, the economy is growing at a healthy rate and those that already 'had' can now look forward to 'having more' while the scum at the bottom can look up to a widening gap, fingers crossed that the wealth will eventually trickle down.Sleep easy...sure, sweet dreams guaranteed every night - don't like cheese, so go in for dairy cleansing.

To be honest, neither is perfect, but at least with the Conservatives the country can actually afford to pay for some of the stuff its giving away! Moreover, by focussing benefits on those who genuinely need them, as opposed to those who just like them, or feel they should be entitled to them because they worked for one afternoon on a mobile fizzy pop van in 1984, then those who are genuinely disadvantaged through no fault or sloth of their own should be able to receive more!

HMMM. What definition of poverty are you using? Also, as a general rule, the gap between richest and poorest in society tends to grow more rapidly under Labour administrations. This is because Labour believe that you can close the gap by giving poor people more stuff, (The "give a man a fish" method, with the fish usually being paid for by taxing the richer guys more, or by borrowing endlessly) whereas the Conservatives tend to favour the "teach a man to fish" method.

The figures might not suit your argument but I'd take their figures over something like a Daily Mail link or prominent PHer with a pen and the back of a fag packet.
Fact: the gap between rich and poor has widened under this coalition - no need to go looking for trends over decades when the issue is now, is affecting the vulnerable now and it matter now.
No one will argue with you over the lazy demanding everything and the feckless feeling entitled - that's not what this is about - what concerns me is the deliberate and malicious attack on the disabled and the infirm.
Miss that point if you like
