I always think of Scottish people as being quite astute and a bit savvy.
Go out in Glasgow tonight and see whether your opinions change.
Those are British people.

...which is why only 13% of Scottish residents identified as British in the 2011 census.
Yet in yesterday's vote 55% identified themselves as British.
No, 55% voted to retain the status-quo (hah!) for a variety of reasons, including, no doubt, Britishness.

There was a phenomenon known as the proudscotbut...

If the No campaign deliver on their promises, which already seems unlikely, I'll give credit as due.

I will not pretend to have any affection for the UKofGB&NI and I'll not support it at the ballot box.

I joined the SNP today. smile
Maybe you can stand for the leadership.

I understand that there is a vacancy.

Less than 24hours after result and additionals powers deal is disraveling already, egg so soon on the 55% face's?.As I type Loyalist thugs causing trouble in George Square Glasgow.Things going swimingly up this way.
So much for the prediction that it would be 'Yes' voters who would be causing the trouble.

They will be looking for someone adept in spouting garbage.

You could be just the man to take over.

Perhaps I'm confused, if 'yes' had won 50.1:49.9 then all the people who wanted to stay in the Union had to just shut and up put up with never being part of the (or one of the) most successful unions ever.

But if the 'no' win, then we have to listen to the whining of the other side to 'get another go'?

Careful, that fire they used to hold the voters' feet to is hot.

Who would have thought that some of those who lost the vote would not accept it.

All should reflect the will of the Scottish people.

Joining a losers group is barking. Salmond had the right idea, the SNP lost and they exist now for what?

The number 45 does have an unfortunate habit of popping up in Scotland.

...and you all lost.

Its over. Everything else now gets decided in London, If there's more devolution there will be less of something else (probably cash) and certainly less influence in Westminster.

Get used to it.

Losing a vote does not end your franchise.

Sometimes losing a vote closes out options - I've never voted for privatisations for example - but it doesn't stop you working for your political aims.

My political aims include ending the UKofGB&NI. smile
