Scottish Referendum / Independence - Vol 6
Discussion
That wording is obviously specifically directed at the English, but it's also two-fingers to the majority of the voters in the referendum. What a betrayal.
And looks like independence is going to be a key feature of campaigning next year, given that the SNP are offering to have non-SNP candidates stand under the SNP independence banner:

But how can it be countered? Only way I can see is if Labour get their act together before the general election and provide a reasonable defence......

See above, current polls suggest the SNP will be the 3rd largest party in Westminster. Nominally that will be at the expense of Labour BUT what it actually does is create a situation where the SNP will be the King maker and when you combine that with Miliband's desperation to get his hands on the keys to #10, it looks bad to me.And looks like independence is going to be a key feature of campaigning next year, given that the SNP are offering to have non-SNP candidates stand under the SNP independence banner:

"Tail wagging dog" does not even begin to cover it.
Right, fk this st. Turn off the money tap that's flowing into Scotland, build a massive fking wall with border controls an have fking done with it. This is getting beyond a joke now. We'll get to watch Scotland turn into N.Korea.
I was right all along - the best result would've been independence where we could've gotten shot of the whinging tts and ensured they have no further say in UK (and importantly English) matters.
If I were a Scot who'd voted No, I'd be seething right now.

Missing the big picture. The price for the SNP propping up Miliband will be to transfer referendum powers to the SG permanently. At which point they will have the ability to keep trying year in , year out if they need to. The collapse in support for Labour north of the border has been pretty seismic. IMO they would quite probably win a Yes vote now.
Rubbish Only 3 out of 55 was a yes to have a swing that large would be nothing any political sphere has ever seen a vast move.
I've a very strong belief that come the election next year Holyrood will be wiped out of SNP

The rest of the UK can't abide the whining from the Scottish parliament for much longer.

The latest polls have the SNP practically wiping labour out of existence in Scotland in the General election next May - 30-40 seats.
That will make the SNP the 3rd largest party in Westminster and "King Makers" unless Cameron has a very big rabbit in his hat.

Someone else may well win in 2020 but much power in England will have been devolved and still be controlled by Labour.
Scotland will be gone.
Alex Salmond has singlehandedly crippled the donkey that was the Labour Party in Scotland. A new generation of voters have rallied to his cause for a variety of reasons. RUK should learn from this and question why Scots have no toll to pay on estuary crossings, no fee to pay on prescriptions, new schools and hospitals being built ongoing and 24 hour home care for the elderly.
A few examples of his taking and giving to his voters.

All good, but what the RUK should not do is take lessons in either honesty or basic arithmetic from the man. He clearly failed both courses.A few examples of his taking and giving to his voters.

Correct.
The purpose of the exercise was to fatally wound the UK, and, as I've been saying lang sine, the exercise will succeed.
And that's what sums you up. The purpose should be positive for scotland and yet you express it as 'fatally wound the U.K.'The purpose of the exercise was to fatally wound the UK, and, as I've been saying lang sine, the exercise will succeed.
What a sad and pathetic creature you are.

The lessons the rUK could learn that by spending £10k per head in Scotland v £8k per head in England these things you speak of can be afforded. Now let's level the playing field everyone gets what £8.5k per head?A few examples of his taking and giving to his voters.
Also I'm really interested to see how SNP will drastically cut spending for Apr 2015 given oil revenue might be only £1billion v this years £2.5billion v SNP forecast £6-7billion. That's a lot of cuts they are going to have to make. Or if its more borrowing then they will need to account for the higher borrowing interest charge hmm please expand
