No V8's for us.As usual we'll be one of the western world's biggest oil producers while being being one of the world's most expensive countries to buy fuel.

It's fossil fuel, and as far as our blinkered and entrenched leaders are concerned it means nothing. It's not a green, huggy, inclusive source of energy profit for their landed gentry mates. Moreover, how would we continue to be the only bunch of tw@s to toe the EUSSR line on carbon emissions if we did embrace it?

I read an interesting article earlier that suggested the US and the Arab nations were maintaining low oil prices (see the continuing output despite slump in prices) to damage Iran and Russia.

Interesting idea but I couldn't see "Big Oil" playing ball for long...and the industry does contribute some mighty tax numbers to the USA economy.
