"Both men showed a "savage disregard for their victims", Det Con Alan Reed from British Transport Police said.
This is one of the most appalling incidents I have investigated.
It is no exaggeration to say the brothers could have been killed after being thrown on to the tracks"

Why weren't this pair charged with attempted murder?

Because that would entail a longer sentence and the politicians don't want to lock people up if they can help it.

I can't see why it wasn't attempted murder either, should be locked up for ten years not less than two.

Maybe CPS felt they lacked the intention to kill?

We seem to be hearing about more and more shocking crimes on the news these days

Teenaged raping 80year olds in their house
Battering OAPs for pennies
attaching disabled people
Throwing acid at total random victims
Beheading on our streets
Gang raping of children in care
Sexual abuse cases
philpotts

I don't see how anyone could think that given they pushed a bloke on to a train track.

There are times when out of total bewilderment I'd like to be able to read their interview transcripts or the transcript from the dock just to hear their version events as it's staggering that someone can do something so totally fked up.

I'm pretty sure that in jail - kiddie fiddling, rape and abusing disabled people are crimes which are dealt with by the hardened criminals in each wing.

Those sentences are a joke. I don't think attempted murder versus ABH is really the issue. It was a vicious attack with a clear disregard for life, even if not an actual intention to kill, and deserves a much stronger sentence in it's own right. 10 years at a minimum. Assuming they've both served time on remand I guess both will be out within 6 mnths.

These two are proof that there is still a requirement for a man in a cape and top hat, with a mustache, who spends his days tying people to railway lines whilst sinister music plays in the background.

This pair of inbred oxygen thieves can be his first victims.
