STV poll published today says that the SNP are on course to win ALL 59 Scottish seats. The Tories don't expect much in Scotland but it will be a shock if both Labour and the LibDems are wiped out there.
double edged sword because it will mean Labour need to do much better in the rest of the UK to get anywhere near No.10. It will probably mean Conservatives will hold the most seats.I think that's the way it's shaping up. Both Con and Lab high 200s. Maybe 20-30 LibDems left. 50+ SNP and then the rest split between the other parties.
I don't think the Cons and LibDems will get enough to make another coalition and I don't see Cameron getting enough to have a stab at minority government. I think we're heading to a Labour minority government with a loose confidence and supply from the SNP. I then give that about a year before various dummies are spat out and we get to go round again.

I agree. If Cameron can't get a reasonable number of Tory and LD MP's then he should leave Labour to it - it's hard to see anything other than a complete clusterfk resulting for Miliband.Symbolica said:

You missed out a few important words. Remember that it takes a lot longer to repair the damage than to cause it.

Tory largest party and the Lib Dems will cling on to enough seats for a continuation of the current coalition. It's the perfect deal for both, and for Cameron to get out of offering a referendum. Labour get slaughtered in Scotland and ditch Miliband. Ukip get 3 seats ( Farage wins one and livens up the Commons ) and the Greens add 1 more. George Galloway gets told to ps off out of Bradford and travels south to Tower Hamlets.
Not sure how the rise of SNP is Miliband's fault. Cameron and the Tories yes, so if we do have Labour/SNP coalition you know who will be to blame.I doubt Cameron will fall on his sword somehow.
I think you will find it was labour who started the devolution ball rolling in 1997.
The irony is that its development since then, may all but wipe them out North of the border. Also, didn't Gormless Clown promise to abolish boom and bust? Technically he may well have done so, he abolished boom and bust, and then replaced it with just bust.
Frankly I would not hold my breath waiting for any politician to live up to their election promises.

Has anyone just heard the Green Party broadcast on the Beeb? WTF was all that about?
I reckon they just couldn't find a way of explaining their Narnia style policies that are by and large inexplicable The best was the performance of their deluded, ex Greenham Common Camp Defence spokesthing. She struggled for ages to explain why they think it okay to support ISIS and admitted they want no nuclear weapons, no warships, no fighter aircraft ("mainly" I think she offered?) and no standing army.
But she needed "army" to be clarified ("it depends what you mean...") but said it would be OK, Britain would be safer because they would endure more than 9% of whatever defence for ever army" we did have would be women! And we would be better protected from war becausevtheybwould end climate change.
Somewhere a pond is looking for its missing frog princess...

the more it goes on, the more I think that UKIP stand a pretty good chance of 25% of the vote and a decent haul of seats...
.
Really?.
And what is a decent haul may I ask.
Aren't there some bets going on this? Are you putting money on this?
Yes there are various odds available on just about every aspect of the GE. ... So I have. Will help keep me awake during the early hours of Friday morning as the results come in.
Standing by for some BIG turn ups for the books ...
Most impressed by the UKIP Lady candidate for Great Grimsby. I bet many of the good folks of Great Grimsby have been suitably impressed too....
All very interesting.
Someone here offered odds of 10-1 UKIP to secure five or more seats. I bet a tenner on that... well at my age, helps to pass the time. Win or lose, a tenner well spent.
